I rate beers I think significantly better than average, simple as that. I am not into showing off through word games. :) Significantly better in cask.

Bottle from the Spar. Appearance - dark amber with some red chinks. Nicely proportioned head. Nose - honeycomb some smoke and some chocolate biscuit. Taste - toffee and burnt biscuit. Palate - medium bodied with a crunchy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - quite gnarly but good complexity.

500ml bottle from a local Tesco store. Lasting, frothy beige head leaving spotty lacing to the glassware. Clear dark brown body colour. Malt driven aromas, mid-sweet. Dark malty flavours, hints of liquorice, caramel, and ash. Mild roasted bitterness to a prolonged ending. Fine bodied. Nice, a bit unvaried though (hotel room at Leeds University Campus 08.07.2014).

Bottle shared with McTapps. Fine one with some chocolate, a bit of straw, some hops and high drinkability. Classic one to enjoy.

Bottle from Rudat in Dortmund. Pours out in a clear brown colour with low head and flat body. Aroma of nuts, hops and barley. Taste of mild hops, barley, nuts, caramel, straw and dark berries. Nice one, enjoyed it a lot.

50cl bottle Caramel and chocolate aroma, very roasty. Foam only lasts for about a minute, itís completely gone afterwards without any lacing whatsoever. Long lasting bitterness, medium body. Malty, with a very subtle hint of hops. I wouldnít necessarily recommend it to a friend, but itís not a bad brew.

500ml bottle (ALEhouse, Riga)
Good call, Marduk - Iíve had this many times, I canít believe Iíve not rated it (then again, Iíve had the cask version anyway). Sweet caramelly aroma, stinky rotten malts. Turns around in the mouth though. Lovely retronasals, chocolatey malts, sweetish caramel. Some huskiness follows in the taste alongside some really deep roast, almost a dry burntness. Palate is simple, a bit sugary, a little fizzy. Finish has slightly thin drying hops, a bit eaerty and herbal. Reminds me of the real ale I once knew, but this is nowhere near, itís fizzy and messy.
