COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Seasonal - Spring.
In the style of a light mild, this golden amber coloured ale has a subtle complexity. Made with Maris Otter barley and a blend of coloured malts and sugar, this beer offers a fullness and depth of character which will surprise you.
“Tomfoolery” derives from the antics of Thomas Skelton, Fool of Muncaster Castle in the Lake District. This mischievous jester was infamous for his pranks, and some believe his ghost still haunts Muncaster Castle today.

Cask@Cayo Arms, Cardiff. Nut brown color, small off-white head. Nutty, sweet toffeish nose. Nutty malty, towards the finish there is some harsh elements. Quite uninteresting mild without any big faults.

Cask by handpump at Hengler’s Circus, Glasgow - clear yellow with a gold tint, thin creamy off-white head, floral resin aroma, excellent lacing, unusual flavour, hint of apple, hint of biscuit, bittersweet, thin bodied,

This is OK, not one of the best I’ve had. A bit too much lingering sweetness. It does taste stronger than 4%, leading to a reasonable finish.

UPDATED: MAY 11, 2013 Cask - Leighton Buzzard. Amber in colour pored clean with a good white head. Light lacing. Fresh on the nose. Initial soft malt followed by light bitter after taste. Well rounded beer but not the most exciting pint you’ll ever taste.

ALLOVATE (2098) - Butler, AUSTRALIA - JUN 6, 2012
Cask, handpump @ The Three Tuns, York, Yorkshire.
Clear, medium gold with a thick and lasting head of cream. Aroma of dusty, gritty malt, sour citrus, grass and potpourri floral notes. Very light, delicate malt, bready and just a little yeasty with a tangy citric note before all earthy and floral in the swallow. Subdued bitterness with little length. Too light on for flavour. Goes down with considerable ease though. Average.

Light, pale ale style beer, well balanced with the malt and hops, pleasant enough for me to have 4 on a session

Cask at the Bridge, Kingswinford. Pours murky gold with a small head. Aroma is dirty straw with some spice. Taste has toffee to start with some straw and spice on the finish. A little tin.

4.0% amber colour with a good head, slight hop and malt aroma, malt taste, nice beer, shame I had it on the same day with a beer I liked more.

On cask at Bridge Inn, Menai Bridge, Anglesey. Amber ale, pours well with a decent white head. A standard session ale with low carbonation. Pleasant enough but nothing special.
