Hansen (1780), Randers, Denmark Apr 6, 2007 Me like it! Has always had a thing fore something smoked. A smoked weizen Bock is real special, but nice. Dark orange and unclear, tiny particles, cloudy, murky, Huge head. Aroma of banana, somke, tar, ginger. Long sweet flavor. cheeta (590), Langå, Denmark Apr 26, 2007 Banana and fruthy aroma aroma. Huge white initial apperance. Fair lacing. Cloudy yellow body. Heavy sweet initial flavor. Medium to full palate. henrikb (1132), Aarhus, Denmark Apr 2, 2007 Dark golden very hazy body, with a huge off white very long lasting creamy head, leaving thick lacing, exactly as it should be; Medium sized nose, very weizen-like with lots of banana and even more clove, some caramel bocky notes and a very little smoke that it could easily be without; Huge a little sharp carbonation, perfect amount of it, balanced a little bitter, could be a little fuller and have a little more character; Medium long finish, lots of weizen character and aroma again the clove is in charge and again the smoke doesn’t really fit, a very little citric acid in the late finish. Another very drinkable beer from Jensens. EHSRanders (714), Randers C, Denmark Apr 8, 2007 Bottle. Hazy yellow colour with large creamy white lasting head. Smokey aroma with hints of banana. Nice sweet fruity flavor. after4ever (1756), Brier, Washington, USA May 1, 2008 50cl. Thanks, Maria! Poursa a cloudy-to-opaque darkish orange with a thick and fluffy white head. Falls quickly to film and leaves intermittent stringy lacing. Has a sourish, funky, footy nose. Comes on a little sweaty but it’s not diacetyl, it’s definitely a combination of the wheat and the yeast. It’s nice once you get used to it. Very creamy body on the high side of medium. Active carb, feels a little sharpish, but there isn’t overly much of it. Oranges, spice, and a candied fruit quality on the mid-palate. Doesn’t have a super dimensional flavor profile, but the body is just lovely--creamy and dense at first, but doesn’t cling to the tongue at all, just moves right along. Very satisfying and a bit offbeat. Could definitely make me appreciate the possibilities that come with lager yeast.
