CRodriguez (4), Redmond, Oregon, USA does not count Feb 7, 2007 A full-bodied and strong blond ale
with a rich amber color. Rich and
seductive notes of honey and malt.
Flavors of sweet tangerines and
peaches with a creamy white head
and a satisfying finish.
Jerome is named for the family dog, who was a well-known German Shepard in the very little mountain town of El Salto, which is on the edge of a
glacier-feed spring high in the Andes.
These beers are painstakingly made with only the finest of national
ingredients. The barley malt comes from the famous Argentine grasslands
know as the “Pampas”, the cascade hops come from Patagonia, outside
Bariloche.
jimhilt (1402), Bow, New Hampshire, USA Dec 17, 2007 Pours with a white, four-finger head that goes slowly to a thin layer, leaving some lace. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Crystal clear amber color. Nose is nearly balanced, some hops. Flavor is sweet but balanced with slight hoppy finish. $5.19 for a 660ml bottle from Haggens Beaverton, OR. drpimento (478), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA Sep 14, 2007 Interesting beer that our amigo Pablo B brought back from Seattle for us at Bodega Brew Pub downtown La Crosse, WI to sample and pontificate on. *hic* thanks Paul! Poured with nice head a significant lace. Head lasted a long time. Paul says it reminds him of good Belgian golden ales. Hazy golden amber color. Had some parcipitate. very good mouth. Did notice an off bitterness reminiscint of bacteria. Very light nose. Quite good overall. waolsen (956), Littleton, Colorado, USA Jun 18, 2007 bottle. golden pour with sea churning style bubbles to growing frothy white head. The head reminds me of a valcano project from 4th grade science class. spicey, citrus. hops and malt subtle in aroma. once you fight through the head it is crisp and light. I can not find chocolate and almonds anywhere on the palate but the andes water is something else. a hint of metal. mild citrus. nice balance. suprised to see this is 7.5%. Why does the dog have horns? Reid (991), Salem, Oregon, USA Feb 26, 2008 Beautiful packageing that attracted me right away.
660ml bottle.
Batch D143
Confused. says "Belgium Style" on side of bottle oh well!
Clear golden beer, nice carbonantion strings and a small pure white head.
Mainlly malty aromas, with a hint of bubble gum.
Mm weird ihas a malty dry taste, spicieness , pink apples, peppery after taste, slight hops also in the finish.
Strange on the palte, but not really bad.
I dont know what to say this is a very unusual beer. I dont think it fits the ESA, but it does remind me of some Polish Mocne/Euro Strong Lagers. But then there is that slight Belgian hint now and again.
