COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Linc’s translation: A beer of great personality, strong flavour of malt, clear, dark brown due to high levels of toasted malt. Mildly hopped to retain the malty character. Flavours of chocolate and almonds with a full mouth feel to finish.

Dark aber ale with a thin off white head. A nice biscuitty malt with faint floral hops, very pleasant. In mouth, sweet caramel malt with good floral hops, a bit thin but very decent. I would have guessed an APA. Bought in Mendoza for 7$AR, called Oscura Fuerte.

Old paper review from summer 2009. Decent light gold, a little icky with the moldy looking floaties, small white cap with good retention and ropy, slippery lacing. Thick fruity aroma, guava, mild spiced yeast - appealing but the fruitiness misses. Fresh dark tropical fruit taste with a touch of citrus, mild yeast, slight well placed bitterness, too warm = too sweet. Not bad, not all that far off from some US versions. (**update- I doubt that last statement!)

poured copper color into glass with offwhite head. there was a very light lacing on side of glass. very little hop odour to this one was a little malty (sweet). although there was some alcohol as well. if more hops would have been much better beer.

Picked this up at Corti Bros. in Sacramento, one of the better selections in the area. Pours a deep amber, not much head. Smell and taste are very sweet, bitter citrus, and sadly that carries onto the taste and mouthfeel. An almost metalic taste, but not off-puting, just bitter sweet battery, is that bad?? Good beer, not great, maybe it’s a code date issue.

Beautiful golden pour covered by a gentle white slice. Softly estery (green, unripe banana), vegetal and gently malty, bready, almost cakey maltiness. It starts off very sweet on the tongue and the fact that hops are almost absent does not help to redeem that. The light mineral aspects growing towards the finish feel slightly metallic. Pretty simplistic, linear palate in which a growing amount of alcohol is felt with each sip.I did not notice any major flaws compared to other raters, but the general dullness, heat and sloppy crackery malts are not great qualities either.

[Bottle] Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is not great, it is sweet and smells like very overripe (nearly rotting) fruit--cantaloupe and watermelon mainly, along with some weak peach. Not very pleasant. Taste is no better, with a huge amount of alcohol, some yeast, and malt that does not taste good at all. Medium-mouthfeel, average length finish. Rotten fruit aroma, blazing hot taste, just a mess of a beer with few redeeming qualities.

Sample at Julio’s Spring Beer Fest (disclaimer - memory somewhat blurred after perhaps a few too many samples) Not impressed

Pours a medium golden yellowish color. Aromas of fruit, yeast and some pepper. Flavors are sour, yeasty, and a touch of sweetness at the finish.

My bottle, labelled in english, states that this is a Belgian style ale. It pours a slightly hazy deep golden with a frothy white head. Aroma is sweet grains and hard-rock candy. The palate is sweet and slightly sticky, grainy with hints of banana. No spice, no yeast, nearly no bitterness. It is more like a euro strong lager to me than anything. In keeping with the label, the appearance and profile of this beer are more in keeping with a Belgian blonde (albeit a rather poor one) than an English ale.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. Nose is lightly spicey with a sticky sugary note. Palate is medium and tingly with a nice finish. Flavors of light spiciness, coriander maybe, with a light toasted malt note and some sticky honey and caramel notes. The description listed here is wrong, this is what my bottle says " This is an Andean Strong ale with a creamy head, a smooth beginning, a fruity light profile and an explosive finish! Aged 3 months prior to bottling"

"Glowing honey brown body with a thick white cap that reduced to a thick film floating on top, some visible floaters. Aroma is ok but strange, banana, mild hops, rubber. First sip I was instantly reminded of a Budweiser like taste and I can’t explain why. Taste isn’t right wheat malt, more rubber, and its powerfully sweet. Thin mouth feel, good carbonation. Dirt and weak coffee linger n the after taste. Bellow average boring beer that is way to over priced."
