Bottle@Home. Pear and terpentine aroma. Brown, yellow head, fair lace. Sweet, bitter, raisins, pear, terpentine. Full and alcoholic. Unbalanced. And why is it called Biere de Garde?

Gerbeer (854) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 30, 2012
Pours a garnet red/brown with light persistent head. Distinctive nose with malt and red berries, and possible licorice note. Flavours of dark fruit and chocolate. Excellent.

erickok (2280) - Tours, FRANCE - APR 24, 2012
Brown bodied, tan head. Nice big lacing. Nutty, caramel, spruce, humus. Well developed. Rich flavour combining a smooth malty sweetness with just enough hop backup. Carbonation is just big enough. Brings, then, what so many Belgian dubbels can’t. Absolutely hides the huge abv. Well made classic style beer. Enjoyed this a lot. (33cl bottle, pretty cheap too)

Bottle 750ml.

Clear medium to dark amber orange colour with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, caramel, moderate to heavy yeasty, reiped fruit, sugary, alcohol - booze. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, dark fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light to moderate alcoholic. Papsoe (25131) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 31, 2012
Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours an almost clear reddish amber with an off-white head. Lots of brown sugar and booze in the nose. Solid body, again brown sugars, dark dried fruits, subtle roast, quite some spices and a massive booziness. Certainly no Bière de Garde! 310312
