33cl Bottle from an EKO-shop. Clear reddish brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of plums, alcohol, dark fruits, caramel, hint of cocoa. Flavour is sweet, malty, dark fruits, plums, raisins, cocoa, strong alcohol, alcoholic bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Could do with a bit less alcohol. BdG?

25/09/2010 - 75cl @ Karakterbierfestival Bissegem

Pours a cloudy copper brown to brown beer, fine beige head, disappears quickly. No refermentation in the bottle, just came out of the Proefbrouwerij brewery. Aroma is heavy sweet, caramel, dried fruits. MF a little flat, no doubt because of the lack of refermentation yet. Round body, smooth texture, even a little oily. Taste of caramel, sweet fruits, roasted malts. Aftertaste has roasted malts, caramel, mocha and a nice sour twist to counter this all.

Countbeer (4311) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - JUL 4, 2011
Draught @ OBM’11: Small off white head on top of a clear dark brown colored beer. Smell gass, malts, sweets. Taste light toasted malts, barleys, toasted brown sugars, hint of fruit (red fruit), gas and a hint of hops. Low to medium carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium body and a light watery texture.

Bottle from Beer Mania. Dark amber body with tan head. Nose is malty, toffee, caramel. Some fruit notes. Taste is also caramel, sugar and some fruits. Spicy. Syrupy texture. With bitter in the finish. High ABV was not noticeable. Enjoyable.

Bottle @ home. Aroma is red fruits, caramel, some molasses. Okay. Flavour is medium bitterness, mostly of roasted malt, some fruity notes, murky molasses in the finish. Good beer, just not really my thing.

Bottle 33cl from Altonbrownd thanks ! A brown beer with good head, nose is malty. Aroma is caramel like, malty, candy sugar and cereal notes, near to a dubbel, very nice beer. Quite sweet, some round hops at the finish, pleasant, a bit alcoholic, nice creamy body.

15 cl. draft sample @ Bruges Beer Festival 2012: dark brown with a slight red hue & tanned head, smells sweet with caramel malts, nuts & sweet spices, taste is sweet with a dash of milk chocolate & cold chocolate drink mixed with full dark malts, Belgian spices, sweet caramel, dark fruits & hint of fitting booziness in the finish, creamy malt & dash of milk chocolate body, not exactly what I imagined going by the name but quite nice actually

Brown bodied, tan head. Nice big lacing. Nutty, caramel, spruce, humus. Well developed. Rich flavour combining a smooth malty sweetness with just enough hop backup. Carbonation is just big enough. Brings, then, what so many Belgian dubbels can’t. Absolutely hides the huge abv. Well made classic style beer. Enjoyed this a lot. (33cl bottle, pretty cheap too)

Bottle at home. Clear copper pour, thin off-white head. Aroma of bready yeast, spicy and malty with brown sugar and some licorice. Flavor is quite sweet, huge carbonation and a thick body. Spicy but smooth. Well drinkable, but not very outspoken.
