UPDATED: FEB 17, 2014 Bottle, a gift. 33cl into Duvel glass. Yellow to golden slightly hazy body. Nice white head. Spicy nose, definitely coriander. I think it has some wheat as well. Taste is moderately to pronounced bitter, palate is clean & crisp, refreshing. Well balanced, maybe a bit overspiced. Rerate: very empty and dull.

Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of slightly sour malt, yeast and some fruitiness, Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with a kind of dry, sourish, yeasty finish. Body is medium, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

Alengrin (2815) - BELGIUM - AUG 22, 2014
Organic beer since 2009, in which 30% of the mash consists of seitan, from seitan producer Maya in Hasselt. Thick white head, yellowish golden colour; aroma of raw potato, gooseberry, cheese, ginger, sour cream, orange zest. The taste is a strange starch-like breadiness, I assume this is the seitan, with fruity sweetness and a yeasty finish with rather thin mouthfeel. My first seitan beer and I will not be disappointed if it will be my last - modernism without good reason, if you ask me.

330ml bottle. @home 28-07-2014.
BBD: Dec 2013.
In short: watery belgian ale.
Pours hazy dark gold-amber, with nice off white head. Short head retention, pooor lacing. Yeasty, bready, caramel aromas. Medium body, average carbonation, crispy texture. Taste follows the nose, a bit watery and bland.
