Aroma is herbal with stewed vegetables. Flavour is unpleasantly herbal with disgustingly bitter, garlic-esque lingering aftertaste. Why?

Pours fairly bright - left the sediment in the bottle. Fairly effervescent, Aroma is of a fairly typical Belgian tripel - alcohol quite dominant, some hops coming through, a herb/spice note and a sweet lift at the end. Flavour is of a bitterish tripel, with some hints of complexity from the herbs and additives, but this is tantalisingly short of bringing bigger flavours to the party. Itís certainly lovely and drinkable - so if thatís what was being aimed for, then itís a great success. But it would be a little more interesting to have some of those flavour components coming out a bit more.

Tripel with lots of weird herbs and spices. Nice, but considering they poured an entire garden in the beer, I expected more taste.

Hazy orangy golden. Grassy, malts, some yeast, alcohol. A hint of peach and some spicy and burnt notes too. Medium bodied, slightly thin mouthfeel and lots of alcoholpresence. Hmmm, I think the alcohol is too much, and I donít care for the burnt notes, but otherwise a decent tripel sort of beer.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Slightly hazy orange coloured brew with an nice hoppy bitter taste. Hints of fruitiness and something herbal, the garlic they mention on the label perhaps. Bought this one under its alias PMPRNL.

33cl bottle. Hazy orange with a medium white head. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Sweet herbal taste with bitter notes. Smells like meat soup. Herbs and spices (too much for my taste), citrus and yeast. Not my kind of beer.

Douberd (2597) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - NOV 13, 2013
330 ml bottle, labeled as PMPRNL. Into a tulip glass. ABV 8* Golden orange colour on the body, a bit pale and not so bright, also just a tad hazy. Two fingers of white head sitting on top, thick, with very good retention and medium lacing on the glass. Aroma is fruity like a typical belgian ale, with peaches and a little bit of apricot, but also with wheat and hops. Taste also very close to the average belgian ale, fruity, with sugar, light yeast. Aftertaste has bubblegum notes and light bitterness. Medium thin body, average carbonation, maybe a hit too high. Overall a beer close to the style guidelines but very refreshing and highky drinkable nevertheless.
