750 ml bottle Brown with beige foam. Nose of chocolate, dried fruits, biscuit, nutty. Medium body, a bit too carbonated, simple taste for a quadrupel, in the dry way as chocolate, dried fruits and warm finish

(Drinking date: 2 April 2014) Aroma of chocolate, alcohol, ripe dark fruit (plums, figs) and strawberries. Lovely aroma! The beer looks hazy, dark brown. Foam disappears quickly. Taste is delicious! It starts sweet, and then there is a coffee-bitterness, that is also the aftertaste: a coffee-bitterness. The mouthfeel is a bit too watery, could have been more full. The carbonation is flat too medium, that’s good. Overall, I am really enjoying this beer! It is has a really delicious aroma and taste, and when the mouthfeel was a bit thicker, this beer would have been even better. That’s why I give this beer the total score of 4.0!

Poured deep reddish brown with a frothy beige head. Aroma of heavy, meaty malt, sweet candy and dark fruit. Full body, flavour is warmly alcoholic, sweet berries and caramel malt.

fkoolen (143) - Maastricht, NETHERLANDS - MAR 7, 2014
Deep dark brown-red colour, beige foamy head. Aroma of red fruits and sugar, sweet. Thin but rounded taste with notes of raisins, plums and figs, candy, vanilla, roasted malts, chocolate and a slightly spicy and acidic bitterness. The high alcohol grade is pretty well disguised. Thin bodied, medium-high carbonation. Body grows as it?s longer out of the bottle and coffee, chocolate, cherries and dried fruits get more prominent with a growing dry aftertaste.

Strong dark beer. It’s nice in itself, but just too modest, it needs a more outspoken taste. This is too plain.

sample, rood/bruin met minimale witte kraag. aroma is enorm zoet, bruine suiker en rozijnen. smaken zijn zoals verwacht redelijk zoet, matig bitter, zeer stek, redelijk fruitig (donker fruit), verder banaan en pruim, matig kruidig, medium body, glad in de mond, een echt herfst/winter bier

DJoer (561) - NETHERLANDS - FEB 4, 2014
Dark clear brown redish colour with a medium light brown head, fruity caramel/maplesirup creamy hoppy hint of majoraan smell, medium to high carbonation a bit dry medium peppery sharp bitter, alcohol is noticable bit not unpleasant, the fruitieness in the smell have for the largest part disapeared in the taste and it has a caramel/maplesirup taste

33cl - brown fluid, beige foam. Nose is simple with caramel, chocolate, dark fruits, candy sugar. Body is medium. Taste is dry-bitter with esters, chocolate, dark fruits, caramel and a touch of roastiness. Not so unforgettable.

Aroma of sweet, candied, dried fruits like dates and raisins. Flavour has these elements too, quite sweet in fact but also with a woody dryness which balances it quite well. Seems like it could age well.

Maakun (319) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - DEC 21, 2013
Dark brown with a orangy hue. Light tan head. Bubblegum, pineapple, banana. Then coffee, chocolate, toffee and brown suger. Nice spices as well. Sweet, but balanced with a hint of tart citrus and a slightly bitter finish. Medium to thin bodied, later a bit more alcohol presence. Overall a nice beer, just as good as some more celebrated ones.
