COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ambrée was inspired by the rustic farmhouse ales of French Flanders, particularly those brewed by Brasserie Thiriez in Esquelbecq — one of our favorite breweries in the world. Ambrée is a dry, tart, naturally conditioned amber ale fermented and matured with dozens of different strains of brewers’ yeast, native wild yeast, brettanomyces yeast, and souring bacteria. It’s 6.4% alcohol by volume, has a finishing gravity of 1.005, and is 3.5 pH.

Draft at the brewery. Pours a light brown with off white head. Tartness, citrus, and some oak on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes tart and dry.

Clear amber colour, firm cream head. Aroma of citrus, malts, light sour notes, very nice. Sour flavour, citrus, light hops. Finish wood, sour. Nice stuff!

On tap at Jester King. Pours a cloudy light brown with frothy off white head that lasts. The aroma is a strong bready malt and leather. Medium mouthfeel with light yeast and dark fruits with light tartness in the finish. Very impressive.

The beer is hazy and amber to brown colored with a small head. the aroma offers, funk, green apples, earth, fruit, berries. perhaps a touch of champagne in the flavor with a pronounced earth and brettanomyces character. Granny Smith apples, delicious and tart. Easy drinking, yet wonderfully complex and intriguing. An elegant beer and one I would certainly recommend.

Beer share and provided by Adrian -- Poured from bottle into tekku glass. Was a bubbly white head and murky amber color. An interesting tart flowery aroma. Very nice. The flavor is much more intense but follows the aroma almost to a ’T’. The tart doesn’t linger and gives way to a nice sweet Saison flavor. It’s bubbly and nice. Overall a super great beer to sip and share.

750 ml bottle to taster at NatiFest (shared by jstax). Looks good; a murky light amberish brown with foamy off-white head. Smells good too; tart and funky with notes of plum and mild cherry and oak. Tastes like it smells with a pleasant, lighter-bodied mouthfeel. Good stuff!

Bottle copped from the D Q. Poured into Prarie Teku glasses with a friend. Light brown in color with little to almost no head. Aroma of slight funk and some sour. Tastes slightly funk and tart then malt comes in with a little hop note then finishes tart. Another solid brew from Jester.

Amber to brown body. Fruity yeast, darker doughy malts, raspberry pie, bit of leather. Classic yeast profile, well developed, smooth amber malts, light bitterness, bit of spice. Very well made brew, just amazing character. The name expects a straightforward beer and in origin it is, but done to perfection. (On tap at the brewery)

Bottle shared at Dunt’s Tasting (Chicago, IL). Pours a nice brownish amber hue, darker hazy body with decent glow. Some decent frothy tannish head atop. Laces ok. Aromas are a touch carmelized, gentle fruity feel. Some gentle spice, carmelized malts, cherry, touch of oak and wine, mellow balsamic. Initial is fruity and vibrant, cherries with touches of fruit, carmelized and bready malts, some touches of oak, red wine and mellow spicy yeast. Middle is a bit dry, tannic with red wine, touches of sweetness, carmelized and biscuity. A bit more dry and yeast driven than Ol Oi. Backend is more tart, dry, a bit slick and metallic. Firmer lactic and sour red fruit elements. Some spicy yeast, dryness and sour elements. Nice. A bit lighter than Ol, gives me a bit more to live for with that lighter drinkability and appeal.
