3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle… Hazy yellow ale with a small, creamy, white head. The nose is mostly grainy, but it also presents light notes of lemon zest, lactic acid and an unfortunate, herbal/hoppy component that just doesn’t belong in this style of beer. Light-bodied and lightly carbonation. The flavor is more fruity, grainy and sweet than it is tart. Finishes tangy and then dry. Not as acidic as I would have liked. Bottle courtesy of Walt!

Pour on tap at GABF, slightly hazy yellow pour with thin white head, aroma brought tart lemon, biscuit, hints of cracker, yeasty notes with lots of grainy, corn notes. Taste is a bit of oak, lemon and lactic notes, hints of cracker with a touch of spice, finishing fairly tart, slightly dry.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
750ml bottle in a tulip. Pours golden with a small, white head. Aroma of barnyard and lemon notes, some pale malts, and light wheat notes. Flavor the same with a nice funk to it. Average texture. A decent Berliner, but something is a little off.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
750mL thanks to djd07. Low carbonation on a clear golden pour. Extreme coaxing does give a fizzing out white head as expected for a Berliner. Nose is peach, funk, lemon, herbs, honey. Taste is watery, harsh raw malt, bland and dry lemon water. No sourness really. Barely tart. Drinkable lemonade with some chalky pale grist. Hints of lactic lemonade in back.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear pale gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a note of funky yogurt with backing light tart fruits. Flavor has a touch of the same tart yogurt note but tartness is more from fruit with a wheat backing

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle shared by Hopscotch. Clear yellow pour with no head. No real aromas. Sour but bland, watery and effervescent with a hint of artificial lemon notes. Another disappointment from JK...

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml acquired via trade from thirdeye. Thanks, Chad. Pours a nice mellow hazed golden orange hue, more golden, gentle orange glow on the edges and bottom. A loose bright white head froths as a firm layer, dies to a small ring and laces small. Aromas are bready, flaked wheat, a touch stale. Melllow yeast, touches of lactic acid, a touch metallic and yogurty. Mellow lemon starts to grow, a touch tart and sour. More bready, gentle fruit and sourness. Initial is lighter end of the fold, some bready malts, decent sour lactic twang. Lemony, yogurty, ok strength. A bit thin and light, some popcorn and grainy malts, bready element still show some life into the middle. Lemony sourness kinda sticks with me a bit more into the backend, arguably the best phase of this beer. More tart and sour, yogurty elements really take off. Not richly sour but very yogurty. Straw, dry bready and grainy malts. A touch of odd sweet grainy malt element. Finish is a bit citrusy, lemon, some spice and coolness, citrus and tartness. Mellow sourness. I get this, you definitely get the base beneath it. It’s an ok sour experiment, a bit big and base shows a bit much to really be a Berliner (which should probably be brewed for the purpose off the bat). A bit sweet at times, mellow, but still a fun beer, pretty drinkable. Just shouldn’t really be compared to some of the hot, good Berliners out there right now brewed for the exact purpose. Ok. A little sweet and girthy/sweet for the style at times for a beer that shouldn’t be.
