Boxer’s Revenge is inspired by the hearty “stock ales” or “provision ales” produced by some of iconic farmhouse breweries located along the Franco-Belgian border and named in honor of the stalwart workhorse in George Orwell’s Animal Farm. It combines delicate notes of tropical fruit, citrus and spice from the primary French farmhouse yeast with tart, rustic, earthy notes from the Brettanomyces. A final dry-hopping with fresh Cascade and Centennial hops adds yet another layer of depth and complexity.

Aroma is fulfilled with fruit candy. Also some tart and funky notes. Flavour is rather tart with grapefruit, some earthy tones and distant lactic notes. Way more sour than I expected by the aroma. There’s also some green apples here. Nice, hides the ABV rather well.

Pours hazy dark orange with a smooth head. Aroma of sourish berries, tart fruits, wood, oak and vanilla. Taste is smooth, sweet and sourish with some tart berries, Bretta, wood, vanilla and blackcurrant. Finish is smooth and woody with Bretta, tartness and berries. Quite smooth and mildly sour, but still quite tasty wild ale.

Pours a yellowish red color with a large bready off white head. Notes of yarn, funk, wood, citrus hops, and vinegar. Sour fuzzy mouthfeel. A little unfocused.

750ml bottle. Kind of a weird brew, definitely dry yet boozy, high-octane but complex stuff.

Pours a hazy orange golden with sediment. Nose is brett, barrel sour apple, little funk. Taste is rather tart, barnyard, fruity, oranges, sour apple peel, wheat, barrel, dry planty kinda finish, like I'm eating the greens stems and the fruit at the same times. Sweetens and gets fruiter as it warms. I like it a lot, but don't love it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Deep orange street-worker colour. Short head. Smells like spiced old barrel after the summer rain. Very carbonated. Doesn’t last long. Short, dry. Dry fruit aftertaste. Reminds me of macerated malvasia. Almort like barrel aged grapefriut. In short love-hate relationship.

Draft - Orange, spices, grains and funky yeast. Cloudy copper with a white head. Peach, straw, spice and orange with some barrel and yeast. Fruity, but not as tart as I expected.

On tap at brewer poured a milky deep orange hue w/ medium white head. Huge wine aroma. Initial flavor is light sweet w/ a big sour aroma. Tastes are Brett funk, sour milk, red wine, and ruby red grapefruit. Full bodied, creamy mouthfeel and dry finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
