4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Perhaps the closest to a perfectly satisfying beer I have tasted since I started taking notes on tasting. Pours a gorgeous copper color. Aromas are balanced funk, sweet citrus with sour peach and soft vanilla-ish barrel flavors. The taste is as close to the beer of the gods as we will see on earth. Funk with citrus that fades to peach as it warms followed by just a hint of barrel and some vanilla creaminess. The mouthfeel is equally as immaculate with just the perfect amount of carbonation that lightens the body of this beer nicely. Overall I can’t give a beer a perfect score until I’ve tasted them all at least once. This however was pretty darn close!

750 ml. bottle sampled @ Borefts 2012. Hazy golden with only some bubbles - nose medium full lactic sour, funk, lemon juice and very sour apple - taste is a wonderfully easy going lactic goodness, brett, wood, some light sweet honey and summer fruits - drinks like water - very easy, very simple, clean wonderful lactic sourness - this is the kind of beers I love, sour, full stuff, being simple is perfectly fine, drinking a 750 is a joy - a land beer

Citrus & hoppy combines with sour notes. Hoppy bitterness lingers on the palate. Highly fascinating beer.

bottle @ birefts 2012. One of the big surprises for me. Super sour and tart aromas of granny smith apple, grassy notes and butter/battered milk and whey. Nice sourness and vinegar notes in the taste. Definite like!

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours cloudy orange with a super tiny white head. Smells tart, fruity, malty, and a hint of caramel. Taste is tart, fruity, and a tiny bit bitter. Medium-bodied with a slick texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Jester King Boxer’s Revenge Barrel-Aged Wild Ale finishes with a soft tartness.

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Hugely complex nose, mild grassy tropical fruit mixing with more dominant hay and spicy Brett and brown sugar. Some light vanilla, woody caramel. First pour is clear and golden, small but lasting white head. Flavours of mandarin/orange citrus blending into woody Brett notes. Fairly light body but a lasting tart and light acidic finish still gives a substantial mouthfeel. Fantastic beer.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
From notes, 8/29/12:
Poured a 750ml bottle into a Jester King glass, careful not to disturb yeast sediment. Served at suggested serving temp around 50 degrees.
A: Yellowish orange, nearly clear. Carbonation bubbles visible, soapy lacing down the glass.
S: Sour, light funk, citrus, whiskey alcohol. Sour apple as it warms.
T: Sour up front, nice hop presence, citrus. Vinuous & whiskey in the finish.
M: A bit heavy, slightly lower than normal carbonation compared to other sours I’ve had. I like it that way for such a big brew.
O: Sampled Boxer’s at the brewery, was happy to pick up a bottle. I like the elevated hop presence compared to other sours I’ve had. Glad to have access to a quality local sour.

Jester King Boxer's Revenge
A-Rather clear, bright orange. Slightly hazy. Fizzy one finger head. Head disappears quickly but still has some lacing throughout.
S-Sweet and tart notes of peaches, green apple skin, bit of hay, lemons, green grapes, slight hint of oak & maybe whiskey.
T- Quick grape and peach tartness blended with a hint of whiskey. Light kind of dry, funky, white wine flavor in the middle with some oak notes and finishes with a solid barnyard/straw flavor and more oak.
M-Medium mouthfeel, moderate to light carbonation. Good warming alcohol at the back of the throat. Super easy drinking for 10%. Dry, but not overly so. Very smooth brew and very well blended.
O- Again another great beer from Jester King. This is a must buy when you see it. I would have liked it to have a bit more depth to it, maybe a little more sweetness, but it was still excellent.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
My "favorite-ist" beer at JK thus far. The wine and whiskey barrel aging really did the trick on this. Kind of a red-orange hue, no head except some large pour bubbles. Aroma of bubble gum oranges and peach. Smooth mouthfeel, finishes very tart with barn yard grain flavors. Excellent.
