COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Buddha’s Brew is a 4.7% alcohol by volume sour wheat ale fermented entirely in oak barrels and blended with Buddha’s Brew Kombucha. We racked unfermented wort directly into oak barrels and inoculated it with souring bacteria. From there, it spent nine months aging in our barrel room before being blended with live Kombucha from Buddha’s Brew at bottling. Like all our beer, it’s unfiltered, unpasteurized & naturally carbonated through re-fermentation in the bottle.

Bottle thanks to Cavie. Well...it's definitely sour. I got the bottom of the bottle, so it was very cloudy and extremely sour. The first pour looked pretty clear, though.

Bottle shared by Caleb. Pours a hazy yellow. Citrus and sour, but it works.

Expensive bottle. Hazy pale golden color with fleeting white head. Barnyard dung, sour dough, pickle juice, tart lemon aromas. light body, average carbonation. Sour dough, lactic flavors with bready pale wheat, mild lemon---good

Thanks, Drew! Served in a Jester King goblet. Moderate grain and a bit of tannin in the background. Mild lemon and moderate acidity. Very light.

A big thanks to Matt for sending me this one. Cheers! Aroma is sour wheat, lemon zest, and lightly herbal. Pour is cloudy yellow, with a white head. Flavor is citrus, lemon, light oak, sour kombucha notes, wheat, a touch of subtle funk. Very refreshing and awesome on a hot day, not overly sour at all. Great!

It’s hard to believe a brew this bready and delicious would only be 4.7%, but it is Jester King afterall. It smells like fresh bread, Sour-Patch Kids and lemonade. The taste is bready as well with tart citrus, smooth yeast and oak with a touch of dried oranges. I like how the low carbonation allows you to really appreciate the delicate, sweet flavors this party-in-your-mouth brew has to offer.

750ml bottle. Cloudy straw pour with a smaller sized head. Aromas of sour wheat, citrus / lemons, and some toasty, floralness. Tastes of citrus, some lighter honey sweetness, wheaty, and some woodiness. Nice lighter to medium tart finish.

Oaky, lightly sour, bright yeast adds effervescence. No wayward flavors; everything is tightly packed and here for a reason. Highly sessionable, absolutely delicious. I could drink this every day.

On tap @ Borefts 2012. Golden yellow and blurry in the glass with a medium sized fading and lacing white top. On the nose I get a lovely sourness of leafs, lemons, something herbal-spicy and really refreshing. Buddhilisious! The taste is just as good as the aroma, if not even better. A subtle but really present lemonade-sourness with a just perfect bretty tone. So refreshing and quenchable! This is yet another one of those I really could drink lots of. Just a damn good beer! 28.09.2012
