3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draft at GABF. Pours a hazy brown with an off-white head. Nose is some light biscuity malt, some earth, some wood, and some light vanilla and maybe a hint of unsweet cocoa. Flavor is similar some almost biscuity malt, light wood, light cocoa, some earth, and some dryness in the finish. If this is their core beer, then this is a brewery I can get into.

2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
Caramel malt and yeast aroma. Pours a very dark amber with minimal head. Very light bodied. Woody, slight coffee and a little bit of toffee. A very light hoppy finish and some earthiness. Really too light to be good but not bad enough to pour out.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
750ml bottle from West Lakeview Liquors. Pours a clear, deep, ruby-brown colored body with a finger-width, frothy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is oaky with some earth, berry fruits, grain, touches of caramel and chocolate, and a hint of roast. Flavor is similar. Pretty oaky with some grainy, very lightly sweetened caramels and hints of chocolate. Some berry fruits, touches of nuts, and a very light roast note towards the end. Finishes clean, woody, and dry with a very light bitterness. Lengthy aftertaste following a light body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, I was a bit nervous after reading about the gushers in some of the other reviews, but this bottle wasn’t over-carbonated at all...so it must be a newer batch. This was a decent mild with a few nice things going on, especially the slight chocolate note towards the end, but there’s a bit too much dry wood on this for me. Not bad though.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle:   The last time I had a bottle explode on me I was fortunate enough to have it near the sink.   This one got all over my desk, beer fridge, floor, wall, and space heater.   Lets just say it wasn’t a fun 10 minutes cleaning up after losing half the bottle.   Other than that, pours dark brown, tannish head that if you dont pour carefully will overtake your glass like "The Blob", with spotty lacing.   Strong roasty nose, very nutty as well.   Overly carbonated on the tongue, so be sure just to sip this one.   Doesn’t seem off or infected, but the overcarbonation throws it for a loop... an overcarbonated Mild Ale... really?   Very strong roasty and nutty flavor, smidgen of earth, slight chalkiness, with mild sweetness.   This is a fairly tasty beer, but the over carbonation makes it difficult to drink.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Faint apple skin lingers.   I liked this one flavorwise, its a bigger Mild Ale than I am used to, darker too.   But this damn over-carbonation pisses me off.   Thanks for the bottle Bill!
