4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours dark reddish mahogany with an enormous, ice cream like, tan head. Smells sweet and malty with some hoppy notes underneath. Tastes malty: hints of roast or chocolate and coffee, full of flavor, with some decent bitterness. Light-bodied with a smooth texture and average mouth-carbonation, Jester King Commercial Suicide Dark Mild finishes a little semisweet with a touch of bitterness. NOTE: I think the whiskey aged version is better, and this batch (closest to November 2011) was over primed.

Wow, didnít know what to expect with this but I really like it. Iím surprised how many reviewers have described it as "watery" as that did not occur to me at all. Tastes a little nutty and roasty with just a hint of pitted fruit sweetness.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: NOV 20, 2010 On tap at my place....Pours a dark brown with a soapy tan head that slowly fades into nothing. Aroma is filled with dark roasted grain and chocolate notes. Flavor is very much the same with light oak characters, dry, and a light dark roast bitter at the end. Mouth feel is thin body with nice, soft carbonation. Overall I am very impressed, it has so much flavor packed into a 3.2% abv beer and is very drinkable, you just keep craving another one. A very high quality sessionable brew. Very much to style!

Smells like chocolate and earth. Chocolately earth. The taste is a little muddled. Some undercarbonation for sure. Drinkable, but wish it had more. Fizz

Capped 750 received gratefully from ericandersnavy. Pours black with a creamy/fizzy 4 finger beige head. Aroma through all the foam is chocolate. Pretty full bodied. Pretty strong carbonation. So it starts with chocolate, then pulls a dead ringer for an English mild, then goes all astringent oaky. Mouth smacking.

Bottle at home ... Huge thanks to Seth ... Ok Bottle didnt gush as id been warned but the glass was 95% on first pour... and every mouthfull seems to foam up in the mouth ... soft woody smoky ... toffee licorice nose ... dark chewy malty roast ... deep dark malt fruits ... light smokey hint ... complex rich treacle malts... packed full of flavour for its ABV ... wonderfull apart from its horrible foaming mouthfeel ... I really excelent mild
