Dark brown color, beady lace. Caramely, toasty aroma. Mildly grainy, yeast with a touch of earth. Good for the style; not my thing.

750ml bottle. Amber brown brew with some tan head. Malty nose - caramel, bread, some roast, and oak. Good amount of flavor for such a low ABV.

UPDATED: SEP 11, 2013 Bottle from Errl. Deep brown color with a thin off-white head that yields some spotty lacing. The aroma is pretty interesting. A dried mixed fruit and oak combo initially, with a little smoke and licorice, as well as faint nutty notes providing depth. The flavor, for the most part, falls in line with that: raisin bread, lightly toasted nuts, quite a bit of oak, some sweet malt. Light body, low to moderate carbonation, short finish. A tad watery, but not too bad. Solid enough but limited.

My Bottom Line :
Toasted bread and earthy depths are met by fruitiness and light wood in this rough and ready session brew.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A slice of foam covers the dark brown.
-The mouthfeel is dry and bubbly.
-The toasty, roasty, bready malt flavors are reminiscent of brown malt.
-A light tartness doesn’t quite gel with the toasted bread allusions.
-The abv may be mild enough to warrant a few pints, but the flavor profile isn’t interesting enough for me to ask for more than a half.

Bottle.
