4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A pale yellow color with a tall white head. Starts off with a mild lemon nose and some tart melon. Great wine aroma and a moderate funkiness, mostly straw and grass, maybe a hint of must. The flavor is more enjoyable than the nose. Great lactic tartness with some white grape, wine, and a hint of green apple. A light citrus note, plenty of straw and grass, and a bit of oak. Really an all around great beer.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle is hazy orange with nice fluffy white head, aroma has notes of nice lactic, hints of oak, lemon, touch of white grape, touch of pear and biscuit notes, hints of slight funk. Taste is a nice mix of sour lemon and lactic, touch of biscuit, bread, and pear notes, hints of grape, finishing fairly sour. Nicely done, but the saison is pretty much gone.,

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2013 Bottle @ home, courtesy of arminjewell. Awesome, thanks! Cloudy, golden orange appearance with a white head. Tart, lemon, orange, pineapple citrusy, light vanilla, oaky aroma. Tangy, lacto acidic, lemon, orange, tangerine citrusy fruity, light wine, oaky flavor with a dry, lightly vinous finish. It’s hard to detect the whiskey.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle from Roosevelt’s. Pours hazy peach colored gold with white head. Aromas of lemon, funk, wood, and some tartness. Flavors of tart lemon, wood, white grapes, and some wheat. Palate is soft and mouthfeel is a little thick for a sour. Nice find though in south Texas.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at Big Texas Beer Fest. Aroma of tart, vinegar, dough. Poured a golden yellow color with a small head that dissipated quickly. Tasted light funk, yeasties, citrus and tart. Watery palate. Overall not a great sour, but a great crossover between a Saison and sour

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is a tasty & interesting brew. I like the idea of a sour saison. This version gives just a touch of the funk with some underlying earthy notes behind citrus and sour apple. Sourness is there but not overpowering, balanced well with the rest of the beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle via a trade with bu11zeye. Pours with a hazed vibrant straw-golden hued body. Large white head fights the acidity and eventually loses. Some lace. Strong floral aroma interlaced with medium levels of funk. Medium oak tannin, white wine, vinous, brett, barrel, flowers, medium brett phenols, light lactic sourness, some spicy notes. Very mild malt. Flavors are quite lactic tart, medium funk, white wine, yogurt, floral, pepper, medium oak. Good brett L and B character. Quite dry.
Lively bubbles, dry, somewhat mouthwatering. Sour. Cleanly sour. Quenching.
Great little sour. Somewhat Temptation-esque with a slightly less developed funk character.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
pour is cloudy fuzzy orange with a thinner white head with loose . Interesting stuff, lots of dry wood, notes of tart lemon, a touch of lacto, notes of citric orange peel. The taste follows, a touch tannic and a hint of whiskey. Semi dry finish, high tight carb, about empty in the back. More oranges towards the back and a decent sweetness accompanies the lactic acid notes.

Huge thanks to wsnich for getting some of this out my way. Thanks to kjkinsey and wagenvolks for providing bottles for future tastings.
Served in a Jester King goblet.
Pours a very hazy apricot color with a short white head. Retention is fairly poor and there isn’t much lacing on the way down. No cap or collar either.
What it lacks in appearance it really makes up for in aroma. From the start I get some fairly-brisk lactic notes plus a moderate amount of fruit -- mostly peach and apricot, but also a bit of strawberry. Light earthiness to the background. Very well integrated with complexities throughout.
The flavor meets the high bar set by the nose. There is light acidity at the front end, followed by a mélange of fruits and mild perceived sweetness through the palate. Some barnyard funk hits alon side some peach, melon, and strawberry. Lactic acidity is Perfect.
Body is light with nice lactic and Brett presence throughout. The carbonation is a bit low, but that’s the only place I can knock it.
Great overall beer and something I would be thrilled to drink again and again.
