750 ml bottle acquired via trade from thirdeye. Thanks, Chad. Pours a well hazed orange hue, a darker middle with richer summer sunset glow on the edges and bottom. Loose offwhite head atop dies to a small film, laces small. A loose layer. Aromas preach sour apple, pear, some banana. Gentle yeastiness grows, mellow spice, firmer yogurty lactic element, medium sour and mellow funk elements give some power as it warms up. Good oaky quality provides vanilla, white wine fruity qualities of melon, lactic acidity, and white grapes. Initial is lighter end of the fold, a smaller body with medium sourness, lactic acid, and yogurt kicking up front. A decent dryness and tannic presence from the barrel, funky dry brett kick into a more pronounced fruity middle. Melon, honeysuckle, and apples. White grape, gentle tropical fruit, some pear. White wine, some mellow tropical fruit essence, grapefruit and tangerine. Sourness, lactic acid is firm but not overwhelming. It’s sour and fruity but not anywhere close to acedic. Dry as we round the corner, tannic, some funk and fruit. Not hot, a bit thin and watery into the backend and finish. Sour and fruity, citrusy grapefruit juice, melon, and white grape. Lemon. It’s a bit light but quite drinkable. I really think as it warms it gets some more character, coats better. Sour, fruity, decent barrel presence and funk. It’s light but pretty nice. All the more impressive when you take into account it weighs in at just 4.5%. I bumped it an extra point when taking that into account. Very nice, good flavors, light and easily quaffable.

Firkin at Flix Brewhouse firkin fest. Pours a very hazy earthy yellow with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has flora and sweet grains with a touch of spicy yeast and underlying barrel. Flavor has has a light tartness with notes of flora and light fruits and a finish that is dry with notes of barrel.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from a 750 bomber into a snifter. Pours a semi opaque orange color. Smells of funky orange and musty basement. Taste is funky orange, bit of lemon and a nice super dry finish. Glad I was able to track this down while in Texas.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared by my buddy Ryan while waiting for some charcoals to heat up. Pours light hazy golden orange. Nose shows lots of pineapple and brett. Some wood and guava and bready yeast. Funky lacto. Didn’t really get any whiskey action, but it’s certainly aged in wood. A bit sweeter at times when continuing tartness would be preferred, but still damn good, especially given the 4.5% abv.

Bottle. Amber beer with a cream head. Yeast and wine aroma with white grape. Tart, lightly acetic flavor with green apple, light grape, and oak. Medium bodied. Fuller bodied (a bit of a full creamy mouthfeel). Light grain and light acetic notes linger with green grape and green apple with oak.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
This was the complete opposite to my uberkind experience. The first bottle I had in January blew me away. It was funky, sour, tart, and very carbonated. Almost gueze like so to speak.
But this time. The sourness and funk was subdued. Still a fantastic beer. But it amazes me what 2 months can do.

Bottle (I think) at Churchkey for the Craft Brewers Conference. Poured an amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma was some funk notes, yeast and some oak vanilla notes. Flavor was mellowed malt notes with a nice crisp, slightly tart yeast character.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a hazy gold with very little head aside from big bubbles. What a nice funky, tart, and appetizing aroma! At 4.5% this blows away 99% of the over sweet examples I’ve had lately....it may not be a "traditional"saison but it is a wildly unpredictable one of the type Dany would approve of I would imagine. Tart, sour yet vinous, with apricot and sour strawberry. The low carbonation makes it more drinkable rather than less. Had I known how good this was I’d have bought a case.
