This was the complete opposite to my uberkind experience. The first bottle I had in January blew me away. It was funky, sour, tart, and very carbonated. Almost gueze like so to speak.
But this time. The sourness and funk was subdued. Still a fantastic beer. But it amazes me what 2 months can do.

Bottle (I think) at Churchkey for the Craft Brewers Conference. Poured an amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma was some funk notes, yeast and some oak vanilla notes. Flavor was mellowed malt notes with a nice crisp, slightly tart yeast character.

Pours a hazy gold with very little head aside from big bubbles. What a nice funky, tart, and appetizing aroma! At 4.5% this blows away 99% of the over sweet examples Iíve had lately....it may not be a "traditional"saison but it is a wildly unpredictable one of the type Dany would approve of I would imagine. Tart, sour yet vinous, with apricot and sour strawberry. The low carbonation makes it more drinkable rather than less. Had I known how good this was Iíd have bought a case.

A - Hazy golden-orange with a finger of frothy white head. Fades fairly slowly.
S - Sweet wheat and grainy malts, lemon zest, tart green fruits, funky Brett and other yeasts, lactic acid, Belgian yeast, light spices.
T - Sweet grainy malts and wheat, tart green fruits, funky Brett and other yeasts, lactic acid, Belgian yeast, coriander, some other spices, lemon zest, citrus hops.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth with a sour, tart, and dry finish.
D - Great sour saison. Good balance with nice complexity and body.

Bottle thanks to Jstax ! Pours a hazy rich orange copper color with a finger of fizzy foam that fizzes out quickly. Aromas are apricot,lemon, orange pith, leather, wet oak and some tart lactic notes. The palate follows the nose and has a nice underlying tart funkiness. with nice stonefruit that emerges slowly... a touch of barnyard funk, mouthfeel is round and medium to light, but for the low abv this beer is full of flavor. Only thing that could improve slightly would be a touch more carbonation.

Brewvival Trip Beer 114. Bottled at Brewvival. Pours a hazy orange color with a large frothy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of peppery, herbal, earthy hops. The taste is tart fruits, citrus, stone fruits, herbal hops. Medium bodied.

Bottle. Slow gusher, no delicious beer lost (no worries, Andrew). Hazy golden pour with a decent sized head that dissipates fairly quickly. Nose is funk, barnyard, must, old books, the formal living room of an old personís house. Flavor is strongly funky, musty, slightly tart, slight oak. Dry mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Wish it was a bit more sour/tart, along the lines of the recent funk metal/RU55 I had.

Bottle from Jeff in Texas. Pour is much clearer than the Uberkind but a similar golden straw pour with a thick white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is primarily yeast.. def a saison character.. oak, peach, white grapes, floral, which a slightly sour undertone. Taste very similar to the nose.. oak, light fruit, some spice..mostly cinnamon some cardamom, earthy. High carbonation with a champagne dryness. Overall a nice sour and saison yeast balance but carbonation was overdone and distracting. Much tastier after it had warmed up a bit.

Slightly hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma of tropical fruit, wild yeast, grapes, and light wood. The taste is wine-like and a little bit tangy, but the dominant flavors remind me a lot of a thin wheat with souring yeast. Itís sour, just barely. Light-medium bodied and a touch fizzy. Kind of weak, though it would make a nice alternative to most session type beers, if it werenít so expensive.

Bottle thanks to errl. Pours a hazy pale copper with a ring of white foam. Aroma has a citrusy tart zing and heavy brett with some peppery notes. Taste is just slightly tart. It has a peachy taste to it as well. Overall itís pretty tasty, just not as sour as I would prefer.
