4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Let's say there's this cedar pepper-mill, ok? And suddenly you find yourself trapped inside it! The inside resin-ates with cedar oil and the peppercorns are knee deep. Then said mill transforms into a tap and is awash with the flow of a yeasty golden brew, somehow refreshing and light...you now find yourself eating samosas in a bohemian flat. The incense is stifling and the samosas need a bit more pepper...

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Pivni, York. Label states bottling date as November 2012. Batch 1. Hazy, straw colour. Thick, bubbly, glossy topped, lasting, white head. Stunning, funky, peppery hop. Lemon juice. Some orange rind. White pepper. Big hop presence, which I might not have expected. Some woody, walk through the woods fresh, piny notes. Taste is soft sweet, turning dry, funky, chewy, oily bitter. Soft, chewy, and so easy drinking. Finishes long, lemony, peppery, funky bitter. Utterly delicious.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
January 2013, Batch 2 bottle, drunk 6/28/15
Massive gusher, but I was ready for it, so didnít lose too much. Otherwise, a hazy blonde ale with a full white head that shows wonderful retention.
Neverending dry brett in the nose shows limeskins, guava, dry nectarine, band aids and oiled leather. Cedar is nicely integrated in to the brett character, adding its signature rich yet mellow wood aroma (cedar is pretty distinctive). Well-attenuated (especially by now) pale malts add honey, bits of cracker and there is a lightly tart lemony wheat character as well. It all comes off bright and yet soft and with tons of depth. No alcohol in the nose.
Flavor pours on the brett as well, not surprisingly. This stuff has been busy at work. Great tartness, yet the malts both sooth and balance, adding honey, sweet whitebread dough and soft wheat dryness. Hops add just a touch of lemon at this point, with very minimal bitterness. Some wood tannin is notable on the finish, building up a bit much and adding some unwanted astringency. Perhaps a touch uni-dimensional, as well. But thatís the extent of my criticism here. Otherwise, goes down immensely easily and shows no sign of its 8%abv. Another amazing beer from this brewery...

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Hazy yellow, whitish head. Barnyard, hay and wood on the nose. The citrus fruits are there too. Funky pineapple, some citrus and that spicy cedar woodyness in taste. Refreshing and quite good drinkability in this brew. Bit of herbs and funky spicyness in finish. While this being quite crisp, I believe it would be an excellent one for the summer.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear blonde with a bubbly white head, becoming hazier with each pour. Tropical aromas with some leathery Brett and hints of cedar. Intense carbonation, sweet, fruity, dry leathery finish with some astringency and lemony notes. A bit heavy, boozy on the finish. Nice altough it was surely better in itís younger ‚ge...

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Batch #6 bomber - Light clear golden color. Unique and wonderful aroma of pungent grapefruit, lemon, spruce, fresh cedar, bitter orange zest and hint of sage. First mouthful is amazing! Like no other beer. Very layered. Flavors include big unique citrus like white grapefruit juice, cedar oil, juniper berry, lemon balm, pickle juice and clove. Almost like a perfumed sour. Wow
