4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
75cl bottle from CPK, London. It pours a pitch black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate and herbs, floral hops. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light to medium bitter. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Strange but good.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared at Natifest í13. Poured a black color with an average to large frothy brown head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted chocolate malt, tobacco and alcohol aroma. Medium to heavy sweet toasted dark chocolate malt flavor with a medium to heavy dark sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a standout beer.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours a nice pitch black with a tanned head. Fuck this smells amazing.Powered chocolate with farmhouse yeast notes. Its like drinking creamy choc milk with coffee and roasted malts in there as well. Way too easy drinking. Drunk this at 11am on a sunday morning was so drinkable. Great beer

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Wow. What a beer. Farmhouse notes help with the drinkability I would say. Drinks far too easily for a 10+% beer. Damn tasty. Powdery chocolate driven notes with light bread and almost saison characteristics in a stout. Extremely solid. Good stuff

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Taster from a bottle shared at Natifest 2013. Pitch black color. Good, darker brown head. Some loose dots and ropes of lace. Dark chocolate, dark roast, light coffee in the flavor. Moderate spice, light tart, bigger bitter. Softer, moderate strength carbonation, dry finish. Bigger body. Solid, tart imperial stout. Bit soft and dry, though.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
First Texas rating. 750 ml bottle purchased fifteen months ago at Bine & Vine ($12.49). Pours pitch black with a full three fingers of dense and frothy brown head with good retention (probably the most impressive head on an impy stout that I have encountered). Aroma of dark roasted malts, dusty grains, burnt cacao, coffee, oak, and perhaps some vanilla. Flavor of dark chocolate, charred malts, roasted nuts, and lightly sweetened dark coffee. Finishes semi-sweet and with some roasty-bitterness. Has a nice smoothness, almost as if it contains oats (though not indicated as an ingredient). The high ABV is well concealed. All in all, quite a good imperial stout, though I do not get what is supposed to make this "farmhouse." (141, 806)

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at Natifest thanks to someone. Sorry, buttsex joke just occurred and made things odd. Very chocolate aroma, but I also get some coffee and some sourness, but very very very little. Chocolate is the overwhelming factor here. Palate is great, chewy. Great beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml split between 3 of us.
A - Pours a heavy metal black, with 2 fingers of espresso frappa head. Rounded patterns of vertical lacing.
S - Rich and roasted black malts, dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, berry fruit, allspice, nutmeg, unknown spice.
T - Dense and creamy chocolate, almost astringent, heavy roast, acidic coffee, raspberries, star anise, charred vanilla, spicy hops. The Belgian yeast is present but mellow.
M - Moderate carbonation cuts through the density lifting the body creating a super creamy feel and light/medium body
Black metal is a good name for this brew. The Belgian yeast takes a back seat to the full on stout components. Lots of chocolate and roast. Light feel for such a big brew.
