Aroma: caramel, chocolate, coffee, vanilla
Appearance: black, cloudy, frothy, brown foam,
Taste: medium sweetness, medium bitterness,
Palate: full body, creamy, average carbonation, long finish,
Overall: Well done strong stout. Chocolate and coffee dominated the aromas of this beer. The finish was very smooth and the beer was very creamy. Drank it without any food, but I imagine it would go well with most roasted meats that have a strong flavor palate. Would definitely drink again as it is a well done stout. Nothing too out of the ordinary, which is very nice, just a well done beer with the flavors you would expect.

Big bottle brought to cfobes tasting. Wow, the belgian yeast really sets off the roasty chocolate to make a very interesting mix. Different, but delicious.

750ml bottle in a cup. Pours black with a thick, lacy, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, some coffee and dark chocolate, spicy and barnyard notes from the yeast, and light hops. Flavor the same. Average to smooth texture. A pretty good imperial stout.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 madvike (2128) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 9, 2013
Bottle shared by jmagnus87...thanks Josh! - Pours black with a tan head. Nose is fruity yeast with a sweet dark roast base. Lots of roast in the taste, with a bit of powdery cocoa and a sweet finish. Medium-bodied and well-carbonated.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 cbfobes (1733) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 9, 2013
750ml bottle shared by Josh, thanks! Pours black with a light brown head and a little bit of lacing in the glass, the aroma has a little touch of funk mixed in with yeast and chocolate at the same time, the flavor is really roasty on the front end with a finish of chocolate, a little different but still nice.

Tap at mikkeller and friends. Black with a frothing Brown head. Funky floral yeast aroma with Black chocolate in the background. Very complex flavors and mouth aroma. Dry liquirice, chocolate, vinouse, sharp alchohol and herbal bitterness. Great stuff

Not a fan at all. Way too much belgian yeast. None of the stout malts come through. Too much carbonation and the body is too light.

750 ml bottle from trade with crajun. Pours pitch black with an obnoxiously big head but it fades pretty quickly and never completely goes away. Love the appearance. Aroma is deep roasted malt, black licorice, coffee, flowers, and light chocolate. Taste is fairly intense. Deep roasted malt, even a little burnt or ashy. Black licorice is big here too. Light notes of coffee and flowers, very little chocolate. Mouthfeel is odd, a little chalky and fizzy, medium to thick body. Finish is smooth, roasted coffee and flowers linger. Overall, an interesting imperial stout, some things I like and some I don’t. I’m not big on black licorice and the mouthfeel is odd. Still pretty solid though.
