Draft... Pours dark brown with a short-lived, white head. The aroma is a malty menagerie of cocoa, roasted nuts, coconut and toasted oak. Light to medium-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and prickly carbonation. The flavor delivers lots of cocoa and toasted nuts underscored by a pleasant tanginess. Finishes a hint chocolaty and lightly sweet.

This beer pours a cloudy dark reddish brown. On the nose I get some oak, some floral notes, and yeast. Palate is lots of wood, cedar and oak, not overly balanced, lots of bready notes from the malt.

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell during the Gunnar Tasting - London. Thanks to Fergus for this one. Pours clearish red-brown with a creamy, beige head. Dusty cocoa on the nose with accents of toasted bread and tangy leather. Light sweet flavor with leathery fruits, faint rubber, dirt, touches of maple. Light bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Lightly tangy on the finish with more old leather predominating. Alright, novel; so THIS is what an oaked farmhouse mild is like - I had always wondered.

Pours rich muddy brown red. Smell is lightly smoky and rich. Taste is much Milder. Thin watery and lightly smoky from the oak I guess. A bit light on carbonation.

Bottle-purchased at Gabriel’s in San Antonio, TX. Jan 2014. Pours deep brown mahogony hue with a small soapy lite tan head (between eggshell and tan i would say. nose is oaky, woody, lite carmel, toasted grains, lite vanilla. mostly woody nose. flavors are oaky, sweet, caramel, lite toasted grains with some hints of metal. finish is metallic with woody toasted grain notes. a fairly complex beer for the style and im glad i got to purchase this bottle, however, i think this bottle has some age on it. I will have to get another bottle and re-rate.

Pours dark brown, almost black with no head. Aroma of malt, caramel, toffee, oak, slight roast and lacto. Taste is tart, malty, roast and caramel. Very mild(no pun intended) but in a good way, light tart, very drinkable but with great flavor.

Bottle share at the Gunnar tasting at CBC clerkenwell. Bottle from cotteridge wines. Clouded caramel red coloured pour with a lasting off white head. Aroma is oak, caramel, slight honey and effervesent. Flavour is iron, blood, caramel and nutty mineral. Palate is really thin, watery mineral. Carbonation is too high. Not great.

UPDATED: FEB 26, 2014 Bottle at CBC Clerkenwell cheers to Fergus. Pours clear dark brown with a small off white head which quickly disappears. Nose is full of dry cocoa - reminds me of Milo in a very weird way, plenty of biscuit and pepper with light citric pith. Taste is moderate spices, toffee biscuit, big aniseed and a touch ashy with mellow funk throughout. A solid, very easy going drop if a little odd

Bottle shared at Gunnar tasting at Craft Clerkenwell. Colour is cloudy medium to dark brown, dirty white head. Nose is a bit strange. Creamy, lactic, milky, dark chocolate, roasted malt, bourbon barrel, vanilla. Taste is sour-ish, watery, caramel, dark chocolate, day old cup of instant coffee. It's a bit all over the place with the flavours. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
