Bottle shared in GTMW line - Pours murky brown with a thin tan head. Nose is sour, with some baking spice, some cherry and dark malt. Definitely not roasty. Taste is the same--more sour cherry and some mellow roast. Smooth and medium-bodied with medium carbonation. Not all that sour, and not really anything remarkable about it. Pleasant enough, but very meh.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2013 Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours pitch black with a short tan head. Nose is like being hit in the face with a barrel full of lemons from the farmers market. Big zesty, lemon peel, citrus and sweet oak aroma with funky yeast. Flavour has definite oaky vanilla sweetness and the dark maltiness from the stout. Nice and refreshing tartness. Pretty well balanced considering its a ’sour stout’, never heard of this style before.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Geez these guys are doing some weird stuff. Pours like a stout but when you smell it, you are blown away. Nothing like a stout as far as aroma and taste go. Aroma is that of a sessionable sour beer with some oak and vanilla coming through the roasted malts. Kind of like Rodenbach as far as aroma goes. Quite funky and citric nose. Taste is somewhat unbalanced but still gels. Quite tarty. Not sure on what barrels have been used - maybe new oak? Quite oaky and woody on the finish. Vanilla definitely comes through - possibly bourbon barrels? Not sure. Funky beer. Really cool stuff. Stout lovers and sour beer lovers perfect combo I guess

Tap @ CBC 2013.
Pours completely black with a small, creamy and light fizzy off-white head. Aroma has roasted malts, green apples, chocolate, light funk. High prickly carbonation, nice dry and light creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is nicely tart, lactic, citrus zest and light vinegar on top of dry roasted malts and chocolate. Well balanced.

[5/4/13] Draught at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013. Black with a brown head. Aroma is kinda funky with some wood, some chocolate and fruits. Sour flavor with a bit of roastiness, coffee notes, sour cherries, barnyard, oak and lemony notes. Rounded-mouthfeel. Very good.

Bottle from Mom's Liquor Cabinet. Dark pour with minimal head. Aroma is cherries, roast, and maybe some vinegar. Taste is weird, chocolate, sour, and not awful?
