COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gotlandsdricka, meaning “Drink of the Good Land”, is believed to have been the beer of the Vikings. Our rendition of this ancient style is inspired by the traditional farmhouse ales once brewed on the island of Gotland off the coast of Sweden. Gotlandsdricka (6.6% alcohol by volume) is brewed with birchwood smoked malt, juniper and sweet gale. It’s unfiltered, unpasteurized and naturally carbonated through re-fermentation in the bottle.

Gold pour with a fluffy white head. Nose is bbq, florals, sweet, salt, and earth. Very smooth on the palate, heavy smoke upfront, earthy malts, juniper, and an easy finish.

Bottle thanks to errl! Batch 2 from Dec 2014. Golden orange pour with a small head that quickly fades to a ring. Very unusual aroma. Smoked meat, pool water, sea water, lemon juice, pine and herbs. Taste is very interesting mix of salty smoked meat, tart citrus, and pine. Surprisingly I enjoy it a lot but could see why many would hate this. Very phenolic but it works here. Medium to full body. Very little carbonation. Goes down way easier than it should. One of the most unusual beers I’ve had. I love what Jester King does.
