4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pretty good table beer. Served with a nice off white head that lasts all the way down. Coldor is a hazy golden amber. Aroma is yeast, fruit, malt. Flavor’s distinctively dry, yeast bitter with a bit of hop, and carbonic tang. Body is crisp and good cairbonation. Finish is like flavor, refreshing and, perhaps a bit too dry for me right now, but great at the table.

Acqueuse et houblonnée avec une touche d’agrumes et d’épices. Sincèrement, ça me fait beaucoup penser à une saison. 2.9%! really?

Cloudy Yellow pour with a white head. Malty, citrusy, yeasty aroma with a light body and a little lemon and yeast taste. Good Stuff.

4.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Lovely and unfiltered with a nice frothy white head. The English hops are perfect for this subtle beer. This is what a saison should be-very low abv with great flavor considering how session able it is. Just a hint of lemon and low malt profile. It’s both ahead of its time and behind the curve. Definitely very well done and under appreciated.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap @ Borefts 2012. Yellow-golden and cloudy in the glass with a small quickly fading white little top. A bit low on the aroma but I get some citrus tones with a dash of snow and fresh fruits. Definitely not extreme, but it still manages to smell really nice. So light drinkable this! If there ever was a beer you wanted to quench down, this might be the perfect one for the job. Softly cutrussy with tones of soft wet grainy cardboard and some thin watery grapefruit with wheat and coriander hints. Soft gentle bitterness all the way. Really good for a lightweighter! 28.09.2012

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JAN 26, 2013 Pale gold. Big-bubbled but well-sustained fluffy white head. Attractive nose of white peach, lemongrass, uncured hay, gum, flowery hops and some peppery phenol. Hint of plaster, mineral, Dupontlike sulfur, gooseberry, and lactic acid. Gentle pinpricks of carbonation. Highly invigorating with a well-rounded lemony tartness to open things up. Complementary surge of ripe, well-detailed haylike pils malt provides a reasonably sturdy base as delicate breaths of soft lilac gracefully poke through. Elegantly weightless malt, yet fairly textural with a pleasant grassiness. Wheatlike twang augments drinkability as does a slippery melonlike dimension. Lactic acid nestles snugly into the palate, firming up the highly mineralic body. Remarkably light in body, yet far from frail or empty. Conversely, things are brightly flavorsome, with a healthy dose of hop-derived nectar and well-extracted malt aiding the light frame as they supply the body with much-needed depth. Finishes with a lactic acid snap which gently curbs the semi-starchy pils malt. Tasty medley of grassy and floral hops lingers. Up until now, the three JK beers I have sampled have been emphatic duds. But I’ll be darned if this isn’t a pretty nice one. Could still use a bit more pils depth to offset the tangy wheat and acid malt, as well as some ramped up hop bitterness, which is pretty much nonexistent. And it does lack some of the rustic charm and estery sophistication of the greats like De la Senne Zinnebir, Taras Boulba, De Ranke XX Bitter, etc. But as this is my favorite style of beer to drink, hands down, one might say this is a step toward redemption. Any brewery that can brew a clean and sessionable beer from noble hops and light-colored grains gets a thumbs up from me! A pleasant saison.
