COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Weíre pleased to announce the release of our latest beer Ė Le Petit Prince Farmhouse Table Beer. Le Petit Prince is a 2.9% ABV farmhouse table beer brewed with pilsner malt, two row malt, pale malt, pale malted wheat, a touch of Caramunich and acidulated malt, lots of Czech Saaz, East Kent Golding and/or other hops (depending on availability) and farmhouse yeast. This is a beer weíve been excited about for quite some time now, as we believe that itís a clear, simple expression of the delicate, delightful interplay between noble hops and farmhouse yeast.

Bottle, 11/22/2012. Pours cloudy, murky orange. Aroma is straw malts, lemon wheat, nicely spiced with coriander, light grassy herbal hops. Taste is biscuit malts, citrus, lemon prevalent, sharp grassy bitterness. Light, crisp palate. Straightforward, but pretty nice with good flavor for a light brew.

2013 bottle drunk 4/7/15
THANK GOD, not oxidized. After two severely and unexplainedly oxidized bottles, this one finally has no signs of it (leave it to the delicately noble-hopped, ultra low abv beer to be the one that isnít oxidized, haha).
Clear (bottles having sat cold for a long time) golden liquid has a small amount of bubbles rising to create a medium-sized white head that recedes rapidly to cover.
Lovely noble hops in the nose showcase meyer lemons, dry grass, light thyme and a touch of lime. That this low gravity of a beer has such a clean, clear, strong nose at 18-20 months is pretty incredible, I can only imagine what this must have smelled like fresh (and will hopefully find out soon, once I get more). Light yeast esters give a fresh plaster-like note which is distinctive and very intriguing/enjoyable.
Lemons, spongecake, fresh herbs and grassy hoppiness all combine in the flavor, with an almost brett-like zestiness from the yeast sitting in the background. Absolutely flawlessly clean and perfectly extracted malt. Not a touch of hop or yeast dirtiness, no doughiness and most importantly, no astringency/malt tannin, which at this low of a gravity, is a very impressive feat. Reminds me quite a bit of Batch 1 Redemption; one of my all time favorites. While this one is a bit more mild, even, than that one, itís still incredible. Canít get enough of the combination of hop and yeast phenols on the finish. Light body, but not thin (or more watery than it should be for its size). Carbonation is ample and tight. Hop bitterness is gracefully low throughout; something I can really get behind (perhaps thatís just preference but Iíll take this any day over XX bitter or Guineu Riner and the like)
As an after-note, even the bottom of the bottle with a bit more yeast inevitably mixed in, tastes amazing. If this is the only good bottle of the 10 I have, Iíll be happy enough (and will certainly be trading for fresh bottles of this).

750 ml bottle. From some Texas beer store.
The bottle doesnít say what batch is it but itís bought before Oct 2013 so it must be batch #10 or earlier. Cloudy yellow colour with a small white head. Mild juicy fruity hops, mild yeast and some dry maltiness in the aroma. The flavour is dry malt, grassy hops, mild bitterness, grainy notes and some spices. Easy but enjoyable Saison. A bit thin though but hey... itís only 2.9%.

"Delicate lemony floral and grassy aroma and flavor. Thereís a little grainy malt and yeast in the flavor as well. Crisp and clean...pretty damn good for a low abv beer. Too bad it ainít priced like one."

Belgian-style blonde table beer with wheat malt. Stable, cream white, sticky, moussy head and pale blonde colour with greenish hue, hazy like a witbier. Wheaty aroma with citrussy hops, sour cream, bread, cookies, green apple. Smooth and light palate with fresh citrus touch, light wheat sourness and mellow, bready barley malt, flowery and even peppery hop bitterness in the finish, much stronger than in normal Belgian table beers, long and a bit drying acidity; evidently a watery mouthfeel. Not sure what to think of this, it reminds me more of Dupontís BiolťgŤre and therefore a table beer version of saison rather than an actual triple table beer.

Bottle. Clear yellow with a huge white head. Apple juice aroma. Light malts blend well with the farmhouse yeast. Super clean and light. A little grass and hay. Overall, easy but very forgettable. -- Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

In short: A low abv and well hopped Belgian blonde ale that is not watery. Interesting alternative thirst quencher.
How: Bottle 750ml, a few times, always fresh.
The look: Cloudy yellow-blonde body topped by a small white head.
In long: This is a beer Iíve had a few times, never thought it was much of a Saison even if ratebeer says it is a Saison. Of course the beer is dry (díoh, 2.9%) but I never thought it had that Saison character. What it had was extremely high drinkability, as easy to drink as a 2.9% beer should be without sacrificing the taste. Youíve got the typical Belgian blonde ale fruity esters and flavors (bananas and others) and a generous grassy hoppiness. Doughy round chewy cereals. Never watery despite its size. Quite an aromatic little beer. I wish someone would make beers like that in cheap 6-pack, but in semi-pricey 750ml Iíll go back to cheaper low abv pale ales to quench my thirst. Named after a famous book, that thing that is like a very long rating that doesnít talk about beer.

75cl bottle, GrŚsšlstasting #4. Thx Jookos! Pours hazy golden, frothy white head. Nice citrusy, fruity, sour notes, apricots in aroma. Flavor has apricots, wheat, citrus and kiwi. Nice fruity finish. Awesome. And only 2,9.
