3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cloudy orange with ample, sticky eggshell colored foam. Aromas of apricot, banana, clove, black pepper, booze, and pine. The flavor is earthy and sweet with a bit of peppery spice; orange danish, lightly toasty with some caramel. Full bodied with mellow feeling carbonation and the palate holds up well; the finish is semi-sweet and bready with citrus and caramel. It’s an awesome, delicious farmhouse ale.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazy yellow/ sunlight gold pour, 3 finger+ billowy white head. Nose is yeast, apples, and very lightly roasted grain. Bitter. Middle is effervescent carbonation, funky yeast, herbal coating of the tongue. Finish is dry and bitter. Have not matched this with food yet, but what a lovely sipper.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Probably one of my least favorite JK offerings. Something about this beer just doesn’t really do it for me. I get a very strong yeast presence, and it almost tastes a little boozy for some reason. Still drinkable, but I’ll definitely take something else anytime.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hay Merchant, Houston tap: Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is floral and a bit herbal, with some yeasty notes. Alcohol is well-covered. While drinking this, I would not have guessed it was this heavy. A little sweet. Somewhat spicy. A little dry bitterness in the finish. This was good, but for my first Jester King I wasn’t blown away.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Big, funky aroma with some tartness. Light body, with a lively mouthfeel. Doesn’t drink like a 9% beer... a nice saison like spiciness at the finish.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a hazy dark orange with a fluffy white head. Very nice and funky aroma, grassy and peppery, a little brett, nice bright tropical fruit notes like pineapple, and a nice musty sort of barnyard character. Lots of wet grass and barnyard funk on the taste, tropical and citrus fruits, and a light refreshing brett character. Waaaayyy too easy drinking and light to be 9%.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A hazy golden yellow with a frizzy and lingering white head. The hops and citrus hit the nose, the notes are on the front of the palate. The linger is towards the back and a bit bitter. The body is absent and quite frankly this beer barely makes it a 3.2. Decent but overrated
