COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mad Meg is simple in terms of ingredients with French pilsner malt, wheat, a touch of caramunich and acidulated malt, Czech Saaz hops and our farmhouse yeast. It is golden colored and quite strong at over 9% ABV. The palate intertwines delicate farmhouse esters with earthy, spicy hops and clean malt flavors.

Alkohol? Był tam jakiś alkohol? Bliskie absolutu!

from Erzbierschof, Batch #8, 8.9% - very hazy dark orange beer with a long lasting foam left; aroma of apples, oranges, cane sugar and esters; sweet and full-bodied; gentle tart sourness, light dryness and with some earthiness; short fruity and light funky finish with lingering yeasty and estery notes; hints of marzipan

Deep pumpkin-orange, very cloudy. One finger of thin, short-lived white head. Smells and tastes like a barleywine. Big malt character, like overripe oranges. A little sherry, caramel. Oddly peppery, like a saison. Fairly dry finish. Odd mix of flavors. Medium body, big-bubbled carbonation, a bit of alcohol heat on the tip of the tongue. Not my favorite. A very weird blend of flavors.

Very farmhouse and high abv and highly drinkable. Hazy coloured body. Wafting farmhouse. Interesting.

From notes. Tasted some time near the summer of 2012 from a capped 750mL bottle that I obtained from the Rare Beer Club. Pours hazy orange with a thick off-white head that leaves thick, rocky lace. The nose is citrus orange, caramel, corn bread, and some spicy yeast. The flavor is a touch of sweet, caramelized orange peel up front, moving to the corn bread malt and finishing with some spicy yeast and bitterness. The body is medium with average, smooth carbonation, and a long spicy and malty corn bread finish.

Serving: Bottle from State Line Liquors. Hazy dark yellow with a small white head. Yeast, coriander, a touch of white pepper, and a little funk in the nose. The tartness provides a nice balance to the light malt notes. Lemon pith, hay, and yeast flavors blend well ending with a slight spicy touch. Well made.

750ml bottle from hops and pie Denver. Pours a golden yellow with an off white head. Slight citrus Belgian yeast and grass taste.

Poured from a bottle into tulip: Pours golden with a decent white head. Aroma is malty, peppery, slight citrus fruit, resin, and funk. Taste is very boozy, lots of funk, hops, and malt sweetness. There is a lot going on with this beer and the flavors aren’t playing well together. Beer gets boozier as it warms up. Medium body, medium carbonation, really harsh. Meeh.
