COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mad Meg is simple in terms of ingredients with French pilsner malt, wheat, a touch of caramunich and acidulated malt, Czech Saaz hops and our farmhouse yeast. It is golden colored and quite strong at over 9% ABV. The palate intertwines delicate farmhouse esters with earthy, spicy hops and clean malt flavors.

Bottle, 75cl, at TFODRBSG 2012. A big, creamy, off-white head forms and stays over an unclear, golden-orange body. Some lacings. Not sure about the aroma of this one, it’s fruity and pleasant, but with something I can’t really recognize. Herbal and lightly chalky maybe. Spiced hints. Quite dry on the palate, medium to full body. Quite bitter in the end, fruity and with some spicyness. A nice one, but nothing extraordinary going on. 120818

Bottle at home with friends. Poured a deep copper color with a huge frothy white head. Floral hops, caramel, citrus, light funk, and a touch of figs in the aroma. Taste is funky, green apples, pear, citrus, spice, and biscuit with a light bitter finish. Mouthfeel is medium with high carbonation. Pretty nice.

Cloudy red-orange with big, fine-bubbled, flotsam, white head / Delicate, floral nose of candied citrus, cheese rind, and brett / Medium body, somewhat sweet and malty, lively carbonation, big alcohol well masked, with good hop balance, and dry, lightly bitter finish / Fat flavors of banana, orange peel, clove, geranium, Swiss cheese rind, hay, and wood / A cross between a brett Belgian ale and a weisse.

Trade from rougeau13 - thanks! Pours caramel orange with a huge white head. Smells clean, crisp, grassy, and lightly spicy. Taste is slightly brett-y, some citrus. Very refreshing for 9%, as well. Very satisfying.

750 ml bottle poured into a Jester King goblet/globe glass. Pours a hazy orangish gold capped by a bright white two and half finger head with a large amount of lacing present as the head recedes, great retention. This brew is extremely well-carbonated no extra effort will be needed in achieving an adequate head on the pour. The nose has fruit, floral, and grassy notes, and the distinctive smell of farmhouse yeast. Opens with a some fruit, a bit of citrus, apricot, and perhaps some peach which melds with earthy yeast and finishes dry. Average mouthfeel, abundant carbonation, fairly slick. The 9.6% is clearly evident with the alcohol present midpalate through the finish. I enjoyed this brew however it is quite boozy; so much so that I feel that some of the other important aspects of the brew were overshadowed.
