COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mad Meg is simple in terms of ingredients with French pilsner malt, wheat, a touch of caramunich and acidulated malt, Czech Saaz hops and our farmhouse yeast. It is golden colored and quite strong at over 9% ABV. The palate intertwines delicate farmhouse esters with earthy, spicy hops and clean malt flavors.

750ml from the Rare Beer Club. Honeyed pour, orange to copper, with a healthy carbonation and a slightly oily looking body. Nose of pert noble hops, considerable esters, and some candied malts. Mouthfeel a bit slick and even waxy in places, though the carbonation and somewhat dry finish relieves this impression a bit. To me, there was slightly too much yeast and malty sweetness for the beer to be truly balanced; I’d wanted more dry flavors, though others would surely find just the opposite to be the case. Still and all, a fairly enjoyable brew from JK.

750 ml bottle Pours a hazy orangish gold capped by a bright white two and half finger head with a large amount of lacing present as the head recedes, great retention. This brew is extremely well-carbonated no extra effort will be needed in achieving an adequate head on the pour. The nose has fruit, floral, and grassy notes, and the distinctive smell of farmhouse yeast.

Wow. A delicious Belgian style beer. One of the few times an American brewer nailed this difficult style. Aroma was big and full. Applesauce, pear, and melon with that farmhouse funk. Pour was a beautiful cloudy gold with a two finger white head. Taste was very sweet and tasty. The big light fruit flavors filled the mouth. Apple and pear were dominant, with bubblegum and yeast coming out more as the beer warmed. The beer was a tad too sweet halfway through the glass, but the nice yeasty funk and decent carbonation distracted you from it. All in all a great beer

750 bottle. Pours murky yellow with a small white head. Nice yeasty musty nose with a hint of lemon. Taste is a mix of subtle spice, some mild citrus, tons of yeast, and a decent dose of alcohol. Nice almost strong saison style beer.

bottle-purchased at Spec’s in El Paso, TX May 2012, consumed in St Louis with Vyvvy in June 2012-pours hazy bright orange with a rocky white head with medium carbonation. nose is lite banana, sweet citrus, lite melons. flavors are bright fruits, lite melons sweet pale malt husks. decent long husky finish with lite bitterness. Dont know how old this beer is, but JK has only been in EP since April, so im sure it wasnt that old. Decent for what it was, but pales in comparison to some of their other offerings.

750mL bottle, sent from xpimptastikx (thanks Michael), pours a murky orangey brown with a small white head. Aroma of orange peel, spicy hops, yeast, and almost a chili pepper. Flavour is very spicy and floral, with dirty earthy notes, spices, orange peels, and loads of yeast. Such a perfect mouthfeel, balanced with spices, earthiness and yeast. A most wonderful yeasty Belgian strong.

Pours hazy orange with a large white head. Smells of wheat, farmhouse funk, and a bit of earthy, spicy hoppiness. Taste is a bit funky, farmhouse-like, with some bitter citruses. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and average mouth-carbonation, Jester King Mad Meg Farmhouse Provision Ale finishes with a touch of funk.
