COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mad Meg is simple in terms of ingredients with French pilsner malt, wheat, a touch of caramunich and acidulated malt, Czech Saaz hops and our farmhouse yeast. It is golden colored and quite strong at over 9% ABV. The palate intertwines delicate farmhouse esters with earthy, spicy hops and clean malt flavors.

A sweet floral nose with hints of yeast, spice, and a tartness. A cloudy orangish amber pour with frothy, mostly lasting, off-white head and medium lacing. There is initial hay/straw taste followed by a slight sweetness and a hint of spice and alcohol in the finish. There also seemed to be a pleasing citrus note in the mix. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Dry and quick. To me, overall, not a typical Belgion Strong Ale, but I liked it all the same. It had a Saison quality that I think would complement many different dishes.

DWF; Drunk at ōST. Bottle, large. Pours large, hazy light gold with a frothy to creamy, lasting and lacing tan head. Nose is moderate to heavy, malt plums, sour, yeast, sour candy like, spice and light alcohol. Taste is heavy sweet and medium sour bitter with a lasting sour sweet plum, warming finish. Body is light to medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Hazed gold. An interesting mix of funk, sweet, earthy, dusty, hints of apples. Very unique.

Batch 8, March 2013, draught in December 2015. Beautiful farmhouse aroma, rich and fruitily dusty. Sweet and rich taste, very well balanced with bitterness, carbonization and alcohol. Beautiful!

Poured into a tulip. Like just about every other JK beer Iíve had, this is overcarbonated. 3.25 A: Murky yellow brown color. Many fingers of foamy white head. Not going to mention retention because it was massively overcarbonated, but much of it did stick to the glass. 3.75 S: LIke JKís other farmhouse brews, this has a ton of herbalness in it. I can pick out specific herbs too, but I donít know what the hell they are called. Also getting a healthy dose of wildflowers, apple orchard, barnyard funk, and dry wood. Finally, plenty of earthiness makes this a dirty, rustic nose. 3.25 T: Tastes like it smells, except that there is too much damn yeast. It was too carbonated to properly decant this, so it has to be figured into the review. Still, itís not too bad. Again, lots of herbalness. Wildflower, apple orchard, barn, wood. Earthy with a mild bitterness. 3.25 M: Medium body (would be lighter with less yeast I presume). Too much carbonation initially that I swirled to a manageable level. Spritzy. Would have been given a better score if it wasnít overcarbed. 3.25 D: Itís not a bad brew, but the quality control at JK needs to improve. They need to let their beers finish fermenting before they bottle them. ★ 1,223 characters DavoleBomb, Aug 18, 2013

750ml bottle. Hazy yellow golden color with white head. Malty, yeasty and hoppy aroma, light grainy, spicy, funky, dusty, citrusy fruity, grassy. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma. Medium oily body with soft to average carbonation.

750ml bottle pours a hazy pale brown color with a lot of head. Malty aroma. Lots of malt flavor, sweet and mild skunky hop bitterness. Noticeable alcohol.

Alkohol? Był tam jakiś alkohol? Bliskie absolutu!

from Erzbierschof, Batch #8, 8.9% - very hazy dark orange beer with a long lasting foam left; aroma of apples, oranges, cane sugar and esters; sweet and full-bodied; gentle tart sourness, light dryness and with some earthiness; short fruity and light funky finish with lingering yeasty and estery notes; hints of marzipan

Deep pumpkin-orange, very cloudy. One finger of thin, short-lived white head. Smells and tastes like a barleywine. Big malt character, like overripe oranges. A little sherry, caramel. Oddly peppery, like a saison. Fairly dry finish. Odd mix of flavors. Medium body, big-bubbled carbonation, a bit of alcohol heat on the tip of the tongue. Not my favorite. A very weird blend of flavors.
