Appearance - Thin, opaque body, perfect tan lacing
Aroma - Chocolate, earthiness, coffee
Taste - Smooth chocolate, spicy pepper, coffee

This beer was pretty straightforward - lots of chocolate, pepper and coffee. The pepper was the most impressive part; it’s presence never got out of control, but sip after sip still packed delightful heat.

Thanks, Matt, for this one. Aroma is big roast, some coffee, chocolate, dried chilis, and chocolate. Pour is super dark black, with a thin khaki head. Flavor is dried chili, spice, roast, coffee, chocolate, roast. Very earthy with an oily mouthfeel. Good stuff.

Lagom med kaffetoner. Lite för trött för att känna efter och minnas hur den var. Inte så att det var problem att få i dig den direkt.

Motor oil pour, with very little head. Strong smell of coffee and hint of spice. Perfect mix of sweetness and coffee, and a nice burn from the chilies on the way the way down. I am really liking this.

750ml bottle in a snifter. Pours black with a lacy, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, hints of pepper, a little chocolate and smoked malts, and a little floral/bitterness from the hops. Flavor the same with a lot of malts up front and a light spicy bite at the end from the pepper. Thicker texture. A pretty good and interesting beer.

Opaque black color with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, cocoa, smokey chipotle, some oatmeal, and a bit of alcohol. Taste of oatmeal, roasted malts, burnt wood, coffee, smoke, and a bit of chipotle heat in the finish. Really nice.

Pours black in colour with almost no head. Aroma is of roasted barley malts, coffee beans and a slight hint of chipotle pepper. Taste has some dry bitterness to it and an even sweetness throughout. Medium-full body, lively carbonation and smooth on the palate. Overall a unique and interesting brew, quite enjoyable.

Bottle from trade with Crajun. Pours dark black in color with almost no head. Thick and musty oatmeal stout aroma mixed with strong coffee bean aroma. Also hints of chocolate syrup, smoke, and bacon. Taste is solid. Sweeter and more smoky than I expected. Coffee and chocolate tastes are great but a little too smoky. Light chipotle pepper spice in the finish, Medium body, somewhat oily mouthfeel. Solid imperial stout. Thanks Kevin, happy to try this.

From 0.75l bottle @ Borefts 2012. It’s as good as jet black in the glass this one, but the head glimmers with it’s absence. On the nose is amazingly lovely. Vanilla roasted coconut with rich buttery chocolate and deep dark Brazilianized amazonian coffee on wood with some brown muscavado sugar on the side. Rich and lovely aromatic. It has a small pirckling carbonation level and a rich oily mouthfeel. The taste is also somewhat vanilla infused, lot’s of fantastic cold coffee, deep roasted goodness, bitter dark chocolate and it ends with a throat-warming chili-like alcohol burning. Really fancypancy stuff that I enjoyed to the maximum. 28.09.2012
