4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 CLevar (373) - Minnesota, USA - NOV 3, 2012Bottle at home by myself, because why not. Thanks hopper, for sending more TX goodness my way! Pour is a very dark brown with a nice mocha head that lasts as a skim and a ring around the glass, leaving spare lacing on the way down. Aroma is coffee, burnt and smokey malts, light chocolate. No hint of pepper on the nose, but that changes with the taste. More dark and roasty and smokey malts, coffee notes front palate, with a nice pepper heat on the back palate. Slightly bitter, though it’s hard to tell with the prickly pepper heat. A bit thin. Lasting burnt coffee notes after the final swallow. Not a bad beer, far preferred this to the BA version actually! Thanks again Josh!
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Ughsmash (6669) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 20, 2013
750mL bottle. Poured very deep brown with an almost equally dark head. The aroma picked up sweet, roasty, slightly nutty coffee joined by sweeter chocolates and vanilla.. warm, toasted peppers, rye, and smoked malt around.. a lot going on, and it worked for me. The flavor found milkier chocolates and earthy/nutty coffee at the core.. smoked malts, building peppery warmth, and greener coffee on the edges.. chipotle heat really built up by the finish, and was joined by greener coffee and alcohol warmth.. very tasty! Heavier-bodied with moderate carbonation on the palate.. a touch sharp and salty on the palate, but otherwise well-balance.. excellent stuff!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 kcorum10 (95) - Arizona, USA - APR 29, 2013
Poured from bottle on 04/26/13. Pour dark brown with reddish thin head. Aroma of roasted chocolate and mild peppers. Initial tastes of the chocolate come through when it is cold and the peppers become more present on the finish as it warms in temperature. Great beer!

Way too intense on the alcohol. I usually drink high ABV beers but this one hits you up front and ruins the experience.
