750 ml bottle into the trusty and eponymous Jester King snifter. Black with a tan, fine head. Smells of whiskey, plum, well-roasted coffee, smoked barley, cinnamon, salted caramel. Taste is quite robust. The coffee is more prevalent than others note, but it’s back seat to the whiskey, dark chocolate, sweet and spicy pepper, fig, light floral hops. The chipotle heat has accumulated by the end of the first 3 oz. Barrel treatment has done great things for an already great beer. Best Jester King effort yet!

Poured dark black from the bottle with aromas of fresh pressed coffee, grounds, chocolate, roast, light bourbon and some light pepper. Flavors followed suit a mixture of all the aromas a light boozy aftertaste but a solid beer none the less.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with light dry coffee, black chocolate and some very subtle peppers notes. Taste is also a mix of peppers, dry coffee with some black chocolates and some dry coffee notes. Body is about average for style with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very enjoyable stout with plenty of flavours that are well balanced. I think a bit more pronounced peppers notes would have made things more interesting.

From notes. Poured black, with a beige head. Coffee, roasted malts, dark chocolate, hints of charcoal and ash in the aroma. Dense body, with a lasting bitter finish.

Pour from a bottle this past new years eve. I really enjoyed the Weasel Rodeo when it was fresh. Great coffee aroma, taste of heavy roast and chocolate, followed by a great burn in the throat as it goes down. The heat was definitely not over powering or anything, which was great. This last bottle had definitely fallen off in a big way. It kind of got muddled down into a chocolately mess, but the burn was still there which was nice. Didn’t score this lower because it was a great beer fresh, just not one that should have been aged.

Aroma was of coffee - and potentially an embalmed weasel which I half expected to find in a bottle of this size. Big, bold flavors of coffee, malts and a kick of spice and peppers going down. However, I really didn’t enjoy this one for some reason (especially for the price which was over $20 CAD for one bottle). Actually filmed a live (overly dramatic) review for YouTube - Just search "riding the weasel rodeo" my channel is BobRyder.

Coffee and chili pepper nose. Big, rich and roasted. Chili peppers coat your tongue and cut the sweetness. Coffee comes through nicely. Interesting, and it works.

Sweet coffee aroma. Very dark with no light getting through and no head. Carbonation was there but as an afterthought. This added to the smoothness of the beer. Creamy texture with higher than average weight. Predominant coffee flavors with roasted and smoked malts. The chipotle was not very noticeable. Great blend and a good collaboration.

750mL bottle, pours jet black with a small tan / light brown head. Aroma brings out complex coffee notes, chipotle peppers, and a touch of smoke. Flavour is intensely complex and rich, full of rich, complex coffee, moderate chipotle, and a little smoke. Silky, oily mouthfeel, dominated by the coffee and only accentuated by the chipotle a little bit. Wonderful blend of flavours, and a soft, silky palate. Wonderful.

Froma 750ml brown bottle. Jet black pour, thin layer of beige head on top but not much else. Nose has rich chocolate and roasted malts. Taste is same with thick dark chocolate malts and medium roasted malts and dark coffee. Pepper heat comes out in the throat. Medium to full bodied, mild carbonation. A nice spicy Impy.
