This version of Jester King and Mikkeller’s collaborative imperial oatmeal stout, made with chipotle peppers and smoked malt, was aged for six months in Tennessee whiskey barrels, prior to the addition of a special blend of Vietnamese coffees, including a large portion of authentic Kopi Luwak coffee (a.k.a. “weasel coffee”).

4 oz sample from a tap to my glass at the BBF 12. Pour was mirror black with small to med beige head, small amt of lacing. Aromas and taste of peat, cofffe, burnt wood, licorice, biscuit, and light pepper. This one was way hotter then the non barrel aged weasel rodeo. A little too much smoke, coffee, and roast for me.

Bottel @ BBF 12. Pour pitch black, with very small brown bubbly head. Aroma is of chocolate, slight coffee, some hops. A lot of charcoal and whiskey as well. The taste is pretty sweet, med a whole lot of bitterness. Some slight spicy notes towards the end, giving this beer that little something extra. Average body, with a slight fizzy carbonation.

From bottle @ Borefts 2012. Almost black, opague. Malt, roast, chocolate, oak and bourbon in the aroma. Malty sweet roasty flavor, boozy with whisky notes and some raw alcohol. Not a trace of the peppers, I’m glad to say.
