2/25/12. On tap at the brewery during RBWG 2012. Hazy orange pour with a nice off-white head. Earthy, funky aroma with spices and a bit of citrus. Sweet, earthy flavor with dry, almost salty yeast aspects in there as well. Very interesting.

Too dark in the Draught House to see the color well, but it seems to be very light in body, clear, with a light orange color. Unfortunate to not have much head in my glass. Aroma of earthy hops and smooth, wild yeast - clean and freshly hopped. Flavor is predominantly hoppy, with a little biscuit and pilsner malts sweetening things up, topped off by an earthy team-up of yeast and noble hops. My kind of golden ale. The finish does throw out some dryness much like that of a chardonnay. Very easy, a little green, and I have to agree with Jester King - there’s something elegant about this. Sourness is only an afterthought, but rounds the beer out and fills gaps nicely.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at The Common Table’s Jester King/Mikkeller beer dinner.
The beer pours a hazy orange-yellow color with a white head. The aroma has a little bit of grain and wheat, as well as some orange peel and lemon notes. Very nice smelling overall.
The flavor is more of the same. There is quite a bit of biscuit malt and Belgian yeast, as well as a little bit of spice. The hops are also quite present and provide some nice orange and lemon notes, while not adding any bitterness.
Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

(Draught at Common Table) a milkshake orange pour that’s nearly glowing, fine white bubbles. Nose of fresh grain, honey, crisp grain, really refreshing. Taste of earth, cracker, orange rind but not bitter, and a bit of lemon in the finish.Medium carbonation, really nice beer. Probably would enjoy this more when it was warm out, but even so it’s delicious.
