3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: thick, completely opaque golden orange with a super huge, chunky & foamy white head that leaves excellent lacing behind. Aroma is full of nice, dry farmhouse yeast, wood, grass, straw, white pepper, & a very mild lemon note. Taste is pretty smooth, with more peppery yeast, lighter on the farmhouse notes with some notable wood, orange, & hay. Just a hint of tartness with a finish of grass, oak, bready yeast, & faint pepper. Pretty quaffable stuff... nice farmhouse ale.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle (batch 11, Sep 2013 bottling).
Head is initially small, fizzy/frothy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is hazy light to medium yellow, bottle conditioned.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain/cracker), light hoppy (flowers, resin), with notes of lemon/lime zest/juice.
Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Not much to say...it’s mild in all aspects, having little aroma beyond lots of lemon/lime citrusy esters. Light and somewhat bland in the mouth. It’s kind of like a weaker-tasting/smelling version of Jolly Pumpkin Bam, both of which (Bam in more recent years at least) suffer from being (intentionally) infected semi-sour beers. Neither fully commit to anything (wrt aroma or sourness/bitterness), and end up being kinda haphazard and unfulfilling. I think there’s good intentions with this one, but a lack of focus on what its strong points should be.

Attempts to gush, but waiting a bit solves that. Medium white
head. Yellow body made hazy by visible small particles. Earthy
oily fruity aroma with herbal notes. Dryish earthy oily resiny
taste with mealy herbal fruity notes. Mid-bodied. Mild,
slightly fizzy mouthfeel. Dryish resiny oily earthy aftertaste
with dusty minty herbal notes. Nice, drinkable, full of
character, and rather unusual. It’s realy the hoppy, minty aroma on
top of a mealy, earthy farmhouse base that defines the beer. (0.65l bottle, from Kihoskh,
