Bottle thanks to the angrypirate06. RU-55 Drank while listening to RU486. Pours with a deep brown to mahogany hued body with a medium sized off-white head that fades relatively quickly. Aromas are of waxy, sundried and cara cara oranges, brett, wet wood and funk. Medium malt complexity, earthy, vinous, balsamic. Deep and complex. Flavors are of acid, mostly lactic with medium acidic. Deep malt overtones including toast, roast and caramel, massively vinous and strongly lactic. Pencil shaving and iodine. Good acidity. Slightly rustic with a negative connotation. Complex and quite sour, very light butyric acid. Very lively carbonation, dry. Feels bigger than 7.3%. Good, straight forward lacticly sour red. Overall nicely sour, with a slightly awkward but deep woodsy and waxy funk profile.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 hawthorne00 (1853) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAY 12, 2013
A beer that contemplated creeping out of the bottle. Dark red brown with a beige head that fades to a coat but hangs around the rim and leaves nice spots of lacing. Aroma of musty lemons, under-ripe berries, caramel, vinegar. Slightly slick mouthfeel. Sour, fruity (cherry, under-ripe blackberries) taste with stemmy and woody/ apricot kernel notes, more than plenty of red wine vinegar that’s not all that well integrated. Pretty good, may come together a bit more after a little while - but with the picture on the label _had_ to drink this with tonight’s nu-Who Cybermen episode.
