4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
750ml bottle. Pours a hazy medium gold, with a large off-white head, which lasts well and leaves good lacing. The aroma has savoury, meaty smoke notes set against a funky sour background, with some leathery notes coming through, as well as a touch of bittersweet apple. Peppery hops up front lead into a touch of oak and some savoury, meaty notes. The sourness shows in the mid-palate, bringing lemon and tart apple skin notes into play, creating an unusual but very pleasant blend with a drying smoky flavour. This blend continues through into the finish, with smoky Scotch whisky becoming more prominent. A lingering whisky sour aftertaste is left behind. This is an incredibly good beer. The blend between smoke, oak and sourness is done with a deft hand, creating a delicious and pretty unique ale.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared by JBPortland ! Pours a slightly hazy golden color with two fingers of thick foam. The nose is very peat smoked forward with bits of fruity acidity and rustic grain peaking through. The palate has the initial punch of peat smoke but opens up into a tart lemon, field grain, salty wood, wet campfire... Pretty nicely balanced and refreshing on the finish. Rustic, smokey and sour !

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle, thanks cparles! Pours hazy yellow with medium head. Nose is funky campfire, hay, citrus, and maybe a little gasoline? Taste is fruity spices, straw, funk, hay. Finish is smokey, plastic, citrus, earthy must. Grew on me as it went, but kind of a strange one.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Mazel tov! Open with care because itís gonnaí emerge to greet you. Bottle indicates this batch was from January 2013. Itís murky, pale golden orange with plenty of eggshell colored, gradually subsiding foam. The aroma is very bright, lemony, oranges, a touch of smoke and caramel. Pretty much the same in the flavor, good and sour, citrusy, with a bitter bite. Itís yummy, not overly sour, and just less than dry. AS foamy as it is, the carbonation seems soft. At this age, itís very tame, maybe not as bold as some would think a gose should be and some of the biscuity or peppery saison has faded, but I like what I taste.

750 bottle. Should have read the gusher warnings, caught me by surprise. Not familiar with the style, so I should not give such a bad rating, but I didnít like it. The nose was smokey and medicinal. Was expecting a Saison so the sourness got me. A big mix of flavors that clashed. Lemons, wood, smoke. But, I like the label!
