Bottle shared by Thorpe429. Very glad to finally try Jester King. Slightly hazy pour with a medium sized off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of big citrus and tropical fruit notes, faint earth and spice. The taste is the same with a bitter hop finish. Medium bodied. Very nice.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Reviewed from notes: glad I got to try a couple bottles of this before it was gone. Pours a nice hazy amber color with white head. Citrus, barnyard funk, yeast, wheat, and pine on the nose; follows onto the palate. A nice medium bodied chewy mouthfeel on this one. Finishes with a funky caramel note.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Beerman6686. Thanks! This pours a hazy rustic orange color with a booming off-white head. The aroma is this cotton candy, funky yeast, and fruity ester mix. Picking up grapes and strawberry, oddly. Grass eventually creeps in there too. The flavors are dominated by yeast and fruity esters: apple, pear, and a little banana. This shows more alcohol than Iíd like, which is sharp in the finish, but itís a good beer. The sweetness is contrasted by a nice dry funky character. I just never seem to be disappointed by Jester King.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle in a tulip. Pours hazy copper with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of floral and lightly citrusy hops, some pale and caramel malts, a little spiciness, and a little bitterness. Flavor the same with hints of fruits and spices on the finish. Average texture. A pretty good beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
750mL bottle, sent from mista (thanks a lot, Geoff), pours a hazy dark golden with a medium white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, light fruitiness, clove and some bready malts. Flavour brings out clove, loads of Belgian yeast, a touch of candied sugar, and even a touch of wild farmhouse notes. Quite dominated by the yeast and clove to a lesser extent. The farmhouse notes donít come out that much, but the yeast is front and centre.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Got in a trade with Cyde. 750 ml bottle into signature tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours very hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big pear, apple, grape, lemon zest, clove, pepper, floral, grass, light pine, hay, light funk, leather, and spicy yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of hop and yeast ester notes, with a fair amount of malt balance; and good strength. Taste of lemon zest, pear, apple, grape, clove, pepper, bread, wheat, light honey, floral, grass, hay, leather, light funk, and earthy yeast spiciness. Light earthy pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon zest, light fruits, pepper, clove, floral, grass, hay, wheat, bread, light funk, and earthy yeast spiciness on the finish for a while. Nice balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast flavors with moderate hop and malt notes; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a slick, fairly crisp, and earthy mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very good saison style. Good balance and complexity of malt, hop, and fruity/spicy yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to sip for the ABV. A nicely enjoyable offering.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tasted on 8/12/13 from a capped 750mL bottle sent to me as an extra in a trade. Pours cloudy orange with a massive off-white head that slowly recedes to average lace. The nose is full of light caramel malt, spicy, somewhat funky yeast, and some light hops underlying. The flavor is the same, with decent sweetness and some bitterness balancing it out, and the same dry and spicy yeast. The body is full with average, stinging carbonation, and a long lightly sweet brown sugar and spicy yeast finish.
