JorisPPattyn (4227), Antwerpen, Belgium May 1, 2008 Medium yellowish head, fed by well-carbonated deep foxy-orange beer. End of bottle solid yeast. "Hot" malts nose, toasted, impression of alcohol; leafy, even earthy aroma’s. More toasted matls, slightly oxyidized impression, ambrée malts, parsley or other vegetable. Warming up, again alcohol peeping through, as well as liquorice. High carbonation, rather light bodied, with some grist slickness. Nice amber ale, not without merits. All the more the pity, that the brewery is currently up for sale.
jbrus (4018), Delft, Netherlands May 22, 2006 Bottled. Aroma is citrus, light herbal and with hints of caramel. Hazy, amber color, beige head, fair lace. Sweet, bitter to very bitter in the finish, caramel, light fruity. Sticky start but dry finish. Bit warming, no complexity, reminded me of La Chouffe with caramel. thebeertourist (1671), Oslo, Norway Feb 17, 2006 Hazy amber with a modern white head. Sweet, spicy yeast and coriander aroma. Sweet coriander flavours with some spicy yeastiness. Rather soft, medium carbonation. A pleasant enough, yet not very complex French attempt at a Belgian blond ale.
