2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 pivnizub (7022) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - AUG 6, 2007
Bottle: Brownish coloured with a small off-white head, dark malt, burnt malt and a bit of coffee in the nose; dryish, moderate bitter-sweet flavour, a bit sticky, light bodied; bitter malty finish with a touch of burnt malt and coffee. Not really good...................
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 downender (4186) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - JUL 22, 2007
Bottle from the now closed Pitfield beer shop. Mahogany with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of preserved fruit with a hint of roasted notes. Flavour was sweet with a metallic finish. My least favourite Schwarzbier.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 khytre (73) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 4, 2007
A very bad idea. The bottle is nice, but the head disappears fast, and it tastes slightly like water ran through a camp fire. I prefer the Jever Lime before this one...
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 TaxiDriver (1372) - Stadland, GERMANY - MAY 16, 2007
Bottle. Quite malty aroma, a little bit sweet. The colour of the body is nearly black with a little bit of red. The taste is bitter, at least it is more bitter than the taste of most of the other Schwarzbiere if tasted so far (it’s a Jever, so that’s not to much of a surprise). The duration is long, bitter and nice. A good one like the normal pilsener.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 cheeta (1165) - Langå, DENMARK - MAY 2, 2007
Heavy malty aroma. Large frothy off-white initial apperance. Good lacing head. Mostly diminishing longevity. Clear amber body. Light bitter initial flavor. Medium palate.
1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 thewolf (8242) - Kolding, DENMARK - APR 22, 2007
Bottle. Dark red (mahogany), fizzy egg white head that disappears quickly. Aroma has some roasted malts and a metallic fruity edge. Spritzy mouthfeel. Lots of roasted malts. Not very balanced - very dry from the roasted malts.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 BeerBiker (1412) - Odense, DENMARK - APR 6, 2007
[Tasted in 2003.]
At the time of drinking this beer I didn’t know anything of schwarzbier and thought that it was a dunkel or something alike. I was really dissapointed, I remember, of this below "average-beer", but I’ll better try it again next time I enter Rieben in Harislee.
