Dieser helle und sehr bekömmliche Maibock aus dem friesischen Brauhaus zu Jever erhält durch das weiche Brauwasser und eine Spur mehr Hopfen seinen besonderen, jevertypischen Geschmack.

Ziemlich herber Geruch mit verdeckt süßlicher Note. Herber Antrunk und bis zur Mitte süßlich behaftet, was aber unter Nebensächlichkeiten rangiert. Im ausklingendem Mittelpart und Abgang trocken-malzig mit durchscheinender Alkoholnote. Jevertypisch herb und nicht zu süß. Test vom 13.4.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Zu Beginn herb, dann aber schnell intensiv würzig und malzig tritt der Maibock von Jever auf. Er ist außerdem recht hopfig im Mittelteil. Der Abgang ist etwas sparsamer gehalten, das herbe, aber vor allem das würzige Aroma klingen nur noch aus, das allerdings recht lange. Durchaus gelungen, warum man dieses Bier nur im Norden anbietet ist mir nicht klar. Test vom 21.9.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,9,10,11,12,11 - 10,20

Clear medium orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, toasted, fruity, cardboard notes, light to moderate hoppy, green grass. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, and a light peppery finish. Body is medium, texture is watery - oily, carbonation is soft. [20090712]

33cl bottle @ Flensburg. Pours clear golden with a small white head. Nose is sweet of grain, malts, alcohol , fruit and hops. Taste is sweet with alcohol up front. Medium bodied. Ends dry and bitter.

Bottle at 11 Meibockfestival (Amsterdam, May 2008). Golden body with large head. Nose of malts. Nice taste of malt and caramel. Hoppiness also comes through. Dry finish.

33 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a huge, white and slowly diminishing head. Mild sweet caramel malty note with a light cornish touch and bitterhops. Sweet caramel malty initial flavoured with a distinct bitterness following. Ends rather dry and bitter.
