COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unique in taste. The secret lies in the water, which is still taken from the same well used well over 100 years ago. The water from our well is unusually pure and soft. That allows us to add a touch more hops to create the Friesian-bitter taste that distinguishes Jever Pilsner from any other beer.

Clear golden with a white head. Aroma is malty and moderate hoppy - straw. Flavor is medium sweet and rather bitter. Dry and bitter finish. Very bitter for a pilsener. 150210

Tap @ Shultheiss, Berlin. Pours a clear - almost totally transparent bright body with a big fluffy white head. Aromas are quite discreet with hints of malts. Medium carbonated and quite light-bodied. Tastes strong grains with a dusty-bitter finish. This was not that good in my book.

Bottle. Clear yellow with big white head. Flavour is malt, bitter, hops and a littler sweet.

Didn’t think the score was going to be this high. I think pilsners get a bad rap, but this one just seems slightly damp cardboard to me. It’s all I could think of that and slightly burnt popcorn - but likely the healthy kind that needs more butter and salt. Granted pilsners tend to be a bit dry so it’s not terribly out of character, just not terribly great either. This officially is one of my more random food-oriented ratings.

Bottle 330 ml. Aroma: cooked vegetables, corn, grassy and spicy hops, sweet grainy aroma. Pale yellow and clear appearance with average lasting head. Taste: Sharp nice bitterness and nice balanced. Overall a nice german pilsener. C

A good northern German pils. It is light in color and body with an assertive noble hop aroma and flavor. Don’t get an old and skunky bottle.

Can. Pours a light yellow body with a small, frothy head. Aroma is nearly non-existent except for vague hints of pale malt. Mild, smooth taste of pale malts and sweet cereals in the aftertaste. Well-balanced palate, but utterly boring in my opinion. Then again, German pilseners aren’t my kinda game.
