COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unique in taste. The secret lies in the water, which is still taken from the same well used well over 100 years ago. The water from our well is unusually pure and soft. That allows us to add a touch more hops to create the Friesian-bitter taste that distinguishes Jever Pilsner from any other beer.

Bottle at home. Gold blonde, small head. Aroma is hoppy, fruity herbal. Taste is hoopy, bitter, full bodied pilsner (comes close to Pilsner urquell). Biter finish, compared to most other pilsners long. Nice pilsner.

A beautiful specimen with a severe case of the hoppsies. Just brutal in such a light bodied beer. Probably the best I’ve had.

Draught. Yellow with small white lasting head. Aroma is hoppy and barley malted all very unique. Flavor is similar with some bread notes and straw. Not as carbonated as expected with long lasting bitter biting finish.

Bottle pours pale straw with a fluffy white head and some nice lacing. Aroma is crisp and grainy with notes of hay and light florals. Flavor shows the same with some slight minerality and what even seems like white pepper on the finish. Overall body is light, clean, and moderately bitter. A well-made pils that I would definately consider drinking on a hot summer’s day.

The aroma is very light, clean wheat aroma. As the color is also very light and clear straw-colored. The flavor of German Pils with a crisp and clean bottom-fermented texture, German Purity laws clearly coming into affect here.

Draught. Pale yellow with a white head. Thin aroma that is followed by a thin feel on the pale. Quite sour.

On tap, Raddison Blu Hotel bar, Hamburg. Standard golden looks with a white head. Lively carbonation. The hops here rescue this from faceless pilsner mediocrity. Dries out quite pleasantly towards the finish. Crisp, clean and drinkable, and definitely not as bad as anticipated.

Light pale yellow pour in glass. Nose and taste is light pines, grasses, hay and pepper spices. Rated 2/19/03
