Unique in taste. The secret lies in the water, which is still taken from the same well used well over 100 years ago. The water from our well is unusually pure and soft. That allows us to add a touch more hops to create the Friesian-bitter taste that distinguishes Jever Pilsner from any other beer.

Crisp indeed, we have to admit, but that Kräuter mix on the aroma and flavours are repellent. I remember having hated this beer in another life. I just tried it again to make sure, maybe I could have learned to appreciate... but no, not this.

Bottle from supermarket. Clear, straw-coloured, with big white head. Aroma consists of hop bitterness, herbal notes, perhaps some flowers? Taste is mostly a strong but generic hop bitterness. Also some cereal, perhaps bread-like, flavours in the second row.

Not surprised. It has a strog hoppy nose whith a hoppy taste. Bitter without a markee touch. The nose resembles vanila and the tastehas a spiced end. Good for the day to day life.

Nice beer! Pours clear pale straw with tons of foamy head that lasts forever. Lots of clumpy lacing. Nose herbal. Flavours are grassy, some Cheerios. Taste light sweet light/med bitter. Lightish body with lively carbonation and a lasting bitterness.

Pretty bitter, but not overpoweringly so. Really light and refreshing with a head that lasts quite a long time.

Nice aroma. Quite bitter, almost to the point where it becomes overpowering. Perhaps a little too bitter for my taste, but pretty nice overall.

12 oz. green bottle. Best by 0615. I thought this would be ok since it’s a reasonably fresh bottle by German import standards, and it was kept in cold storage, but no… still skunky. It pours a nice clear golden yellow color with a small white head. The aroma is skunk and aluminum with some pale malt and spicy hops underneath. The flavor is better with strong noble spicy, floral, earthy hops, hints of skunk and pear fruit with a little pale malt sweetness before a medium bitter finish. Very nice mouthfeel. This is probably pretty good stuff when fresh.

500ml can, clear golden color, with a frothy pillowy white head, with a mild bubblegum yeast, straw, fresh cut hay nose, with a crunchy, grainy pale, pilsener malt, pie crust, bread accent in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a crisp, clean, faint Thrills chewing gum yeast, herbal flowery citrus, leafy, grassy hoppy character, with some mineral, soft grainy honeyed pale, pilsener malty, bread crumb, faint spritzy lemon peel, subtle mint leaf, bread dough, faint lemon pie crust flavours, leading towards a zesty, spritzy citrusy lemon pie, faint grainy pale, pilsener maltiness, dry grassy, leafy, citrus hop bitterness finish. Very nice dry hoppy pilsener.
