1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 asheft (2030) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 6, 2007
[bottle]
Blast of hops that do not seem to be the freshest--a little cheasy, rosiny, rancid oiniony. A touch of crisp maltiness comes through as the beer warms. Dark clear straw. Unpleasant bitterness comes in early and transcends the tasting experience through a generic noble hops flavour and maltiness. The bitterness and the hops combined into a sort of bitter, rancid onion flavour. I will not be trying this beer again. Typical German Pils feel, except for the persistant bitterness.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Hoser (365) - Cowtown, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 3, 2007
Hoppy Crisp and well made but boring. Had this this in Rottenburg. Page 251 of Michael Jackson’s Great Beer Guide only 359 out of 500 Classic Brews to go.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 SpudClampDawg (1029) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - FEB 26, 2007
Pours like a translucent honey with a rapidly growing ivory white head. The hops hit my nose as soon as I cracked this open. German grassy, piney, skunky goodness for sure. A slight honey malt back balances the hops. This drinks really great - with a wonderfully light and refreshing mouthfeel. No harsh bitterness to slow things down either. Wow - this could be a new favorite summer session brew. This is the best German pilsener I have tried yet.

Bottle. Golden clear colour with an average lasting bubbly white head. Malty and hoppy aroma. Nice dry hoppy and malty flavour with a long bitter finish to it. A good German pils.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 MI2CA (1340) - Noblesville, Indiana, USA - JAN 22, 2007
12oz - BB 30.08.07 - Aroma is very skunky and funky, Euro hops and bready malt. Pours transparent yellow with some bubbles and a big fluffy head leaving great lacing. Flavor is a milder version of aroma, Hops linger to give it some character. Palate is crisp, clean and a bit thin. I’ve never been a big fan of pilsners, but this is pretty tasty.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 thewolf (8245) - Kolding, DENMARK - DEC 29, 2006
Very pale, clear yellow. Foamy white head. Hay aroma with mild hops. Flavours include hay and some mild fruityness. Quite dry but not that bitter at the end.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Dogbrick (4531) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - DEC 4, 2006
Pours a clear pale straw color with a medium thick and fizzy white head that burns away rapidly. Patchy lacing. Aroma of mild hops and hay. Light-bodied and effervescent with a dry mouthfeel. Lightly bitter hops and sour fruit flavors are pretty much the only flavors. The finish is dry and hoppy with some sweetness coming through. Not as easy to drink as most Pilseners. Fairly average all around.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 zach8270 (2803) - Henrietta, New York, USA - NOV 29, 2006
(draft @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Clear yellow pour with a silky white head and great lacing. Aroma is very floral and hoppy with some cookie dough and grass. Flavor has a slight sweetness at the beginning with a very dry, bitter, and hoppy middle and a very bitter and lingering aftertaste. Not quite what I expected in the finish. Very nice, until it warmed up. Drink it cold.
