Commercial Description:
Unique in taste. The secret lies in the water, which is still taken from the same well used well over 100 years ago. The water from our well is unusually pure and soft. That allows us to add a touch more hops to create the Friesian-bitter taste that distinguishes Jever Pilsner from any other beer.

Sampled in Hamburg and did not care for it. Has a really harsh aftertaste. Pours like a traditional pilsner but has a stinky finish.

Nice and crisp, but not quite what I was expecting. Yellow fizzy lager pour, with a solid nose of light malt and hops. Taste is refreshing with a nice hop bite on the finish. A little floral, although with that macro taste also in the finish. Decent.

500 ml can. From Germany (J). BBE 26.09.07.
Clear pale golden yellow colour with white medium-size head. Malty aroma. Malty flavour with bitter hoppy notes. Almost 2 years after BBE and still kicking. Must be rated again with slightly fresher version though.

330 ml bottle. From Lübeck, Germany.
Clear pale golden colour with small white head. Malty and fresh grassy hoppy aroma with tiny hints of chocolate (?) and paper. Bitter grassy hoppy flavour with decent maltiness and hints of paper. It is at least decent German Pilsener.

On tap at Toronado, 6-13-09. Super-excited to find this beer, have read about it and have longed for the "most bitter of lagers" and was not disappointed. The hops are IPA-bitter, this was almost salty! Wow! Not a whole lot of nose to speak of but it’s a lager who so big whoop. Clean after taste, light body. I would definitely rank this up there amongst the best pilsners.

Pours light golden with medium head which settles fairly quick with some lacing. Aroma of fresh spicy hops. Malty sweetness in flavor, nicely balanced by the long lasting bitterness.
